Willock, Armstrong, Begovic, Mahoney, Walsh, & Dixon-Bonner! Is it just these 6 we await news on Yes, and of course we wait to see where Hayden ends up. He made reassuring noises, but not sure we can afford him. Those 6 I think complete the out of contract but I think we need to add a few "watch this space" names such as Chair, JCS. I cannot see Hayden coming - out of our price range.

Fairly obvious where we need to get people in and no more there apart from maybe Kelman to let go unless we get better replacements in first. Now comes the difficult bit - getting players in on a limited budget.

Clubs had to confirm their retained players for 24/25 by the 18th May. Or to put another way, release the out of contract players that they have not offered fresh terms to. But if they have offered new terms, they do not have to release them until the offer expires - usually in most clubs on 31st May. So that would suggest that we have offered new terms to the remaining 6 out of contracts (Armstrong, Begovic, Mahoney, Walsh, Dixon-Bonner and Willock). The club has stated that Dixon-Bonner has been offered new terms, there have been rumblings about Armstrong for some time, and Begovic's agent seems to be holding out for a better offer than we have made. Walsh was talking positively about next season in his post-match interview. Mahoney seems to have disappeared after his bad injury at Swindon, but would be allowed to remain on for treatment, even once out of contract. We will have to ask Willock's dad what is happening with him. But the Gubbins announcement was after the 18th deadline, and if any of the six have signed new deals, we presumably will be told on the 4pm daily release. But we will not be allowed to know the duration of any deal of course...new rules! So who will be today's snippet?

Stephen Balla released. Made the subs bench twice this season. Pacey winger, but quite small. I suppose our Aussie signing (Bennie) takes his place.

I hope they reissue jersey numbers so that all we see is 1-25 only not number 40 or 41 etc

I hope they reissue jersey numbers so that all we see is 1-25 only not number 40 or 41 etc These days players choose favorite numbers if they're not given 1 - 11 so think it will be unlikely. At least it's not like T20 cricket where you have three number choices like 333

We are not as bad as many other Championship clubs who allocate shirt numbers to their entire playing squad. So players have shirts in the seventies and eighties with little chance of wearing them for the first team. Then we have the players who insist on the same number on their shirt, club after club e.g. Albert Adomah at number 37. But I can live with the random numbering, I just wish I could read them at the ground. I still identify players by their footwear, or gait, the backs of shirts are a mystery to me for QPR. I would much prefer the style of the 70s and Stan Bowles whereby the number 10 had a white surround. Not bothered about the names, just let me read the numbers the way I can read the opposition numbers.

Armstrong gone to Bristol City but Slovenian striker Celar in. Looks like an upgrade. Time will tell Presently, yes as Celar is clearly the more finished article now. But Armstrong has a high ceiling and if he can reach it he's going to go to the Prem. At this point in time, though, I think Celar gives us more. Considering the paucity of strikers we have it's more important for us to have a guy who we can start from gameweek one and who has proven he knows how to score goals, than have to rely on a lad who is still learning his craft
