Wonder if he is injured, already released, sulking or whatever! Not part of the goalkeeping sessions before kick-off, surely about to be released. According to Wikipedia, he has made 15 appearances since 2019, when he left Millwall. His QPR salary is listed on 'those' websites as between £200k and £250K pa. £4k a week for turning up. Not a bad life is it as back up keeper?

Walsh showed, even just one game, he could be at the very least a decent number 2 next season at a good age. Maybe too big a gamble for number 1 , who knows. Begovic could well renew his contract but his wages may need to come off the books so we can invest elsewhere. There must be a decent out of contract keeper somewhere, aged in early 30s that we could get? But I would give Walsh the preseason to prove himself as being capable as our number 1.

Walsh on Facebook said he was looking forward to next season and heavily implied it will be with QPR. Our policy of not releasing contract information nowadays, may mean that some of our out of contracts are in fact signed up. Walsh took over from Archer on the bench a few games back, so he may be the future and Archer the past.

Yes, increasingly it is looking as if both Begovic and Walsh will be returning next season. Perhaps Begovic may be evolving into our goalkeeping coach - after all, he has a goalkeeping academy. If that were to happen, I am sure that he would retain his playing registration, and perhaps he will provide the backdrop for a more gradual transition for Walsh to become the number one. It would not surprise me. If funds are limited, I would rather it was invested in a striker, or to get more goals in the team somehow. We should hear the retained list later this week, together with some indication about who we have offered new terms I guess.

You want a good goalkeeper - Alex Paulsen Wellington Phoenix, Conceded 26 goals in 27 games, is only 21 and has a very big future as a professional.

A couple of days ago Celtic's main target was Begovic according to Scottish press ! I think we will keep Begovic for his experience and dressing room influence and let him coach Walsh through. Sinisalo sound good but still a bit of a gamble - probably know about by Marti from his days one refrozen north.

The 21-year-old has kept a club record 11 clean sheets, saved three of the five penalties he has faced and has the highest save percentage of any goalkeeper in the A-League (81%)

I can see Begovic staying one more year whilst handing the baton over to Walsh. Just makes sense in my head and no transfer fees

Watching some of the play-offs, the Crawley keeper was exceptional. Pal told me that their rise up the table has been down to a good manager and a great keeper. There are some clips on the web of some of his impressive footwork, another Seny Dieng, just what Marti likes. Corey Addai has been around a bit, starting off with Arsenal youth. According to Transfer market, he could even be out of contract this Summer. Would think that quite a few clubs could have him on their radar. Be interested to see where he ends up. Wouldn't mind him and Walsh battling for the number one shirt. www.transfermarkt.co.uk/corey-addai/profil/spieler/424456

Anyone know why?
After leaving Bournemouth (having already been loaned out without playing much) Begovic lasted 2 full seasons at Everton bench warming and playing a total of one league cup game and 3 league games before rejecting an extension to what must have been a well paid job for not playing.
After that no one wanted him until we picked him up on a short deal, probably in last minute desperation after Dieng left.
Now suddenly he is flavour of the month being linked with Celtic and others .
Good agent pushing up his wages? Looking for a well paid bench warmer position to save the effort? Click bait. I think very soon the club has to put it's foot down with him and maybe Walsh as well - sign or go. We do not want to end up with no keepers again as last year and finding decent replacements is not that easy.
