It was going to take a miracle to save us and credit to the people responsible for finding our “Messiah” to do so. It cannot have gone unnoticed that someone who has been able to make a silk purse out of a pigs ear is now on the radar of top tier clubs but let’s hope we get many more seasons out of him before the managerial equivalent of Eze moves on to greater heights.
So we go into the last game without the pressure we have had all season, Coventry’s race is now run whilst our race has been won with our best performance in a decade. Can’ t help but admire what the Ipswich “Messiah” has done for them , div 3 to almost certain top tier football in consecutive seasons, unless they blow it against relegated Huddersfield — surely not.
I’ m sure Marti will want to finish in style, could be an entertaining free flowing game or an utter bore, we’ll see, would expect some fringe players to be given a runout.
For the first time in, well the last ten years, I look forward to the next season with great optimism.

Although Marti has done amazing things, I think all the ingredients were there he just had to put them together in the right way. I love Gareth but his appearance and tactics didn't suit the players and he lost the dressing room.

Easier said than done though. Critchley couldn’t do it. Ainsworth did even worse at it. Marti delivered it. He had some additions in the window and each and every one of them added something, unlike some of our other January windows
For me all credit to Marti and also the players for believing in him and getting behind him.

I dont disagree with you, just though ti was worth pointing out the Ainsworth was simply not the man to do the job. Not sure about Critchley, I think his reputation meant there was an expectation to see an immediate an response, he was on a hiding to nothing. I think Marti is far better than an manger than we have had in years and bloody love what he has done. Already looking forward to next season to see where he takes us, got a big job on hs hands with sorting the squad first, another Gleason of huge change ahead.

No Ainsworth was a bad appointment, less said about it the better. Positive vibes for next year, hopefully we can finish in the top half of the table after a couple of seasons of stress
