That’s just about our strongest team. I would prefer Cook for Dunne with Fox and Smyth also unlucky to miss out.

Long cold walk to the ground and then back to the car, feeling pretty sad. We gave it a go, we should have scored when on top. Watford score with their first shot on target and score a second with their second shot on target. Today we defended set pieces better, but stood off Livermore to allow him to beat us. A few observations: Armstrong is a real handful, he scares the life out of defenders, but he had three really good chances today, and a decent striker scores a hat trick. Field was booked in the third minute for a drag back. Paal was later booked for the same thing. Ok, fair enough but when Watford did it they did not get carded. Colback was lucky to only get a yellow card. He is a liability. He also stood off Livermore. Chair and Colback were replaced as part of pre agreed plan. We are still trying, but we are stuffed.

Strong enough I’m going to change prediction to a win. U rrrrssss 💙 Of course, should have stuck with my original prediction. Sigh. The yellow cards were all daft. Colback has always been like that but I wonder if he’s lost pace because there must be something to account for how late he is in the challenge. Don’t write him off yet. He still has the chance to be a pivotal figure in the relegation fight.

New blood at the top but looks like no new blood on the pitch is likely to be forthcoming. Could not fault the team effort today they played well, worked hard, created chances and missed them. Unfortunate that they all fell to young Armstrong whose lack of finesse prevents him from putting them away. Don’t know how Marti is going to turn this around if we can’t invest in new players or at least a proven striker

Same old problem a team devoid of scoring goals when on top. Dykes not a good enough Championship striker. Armstrong too raw, not clinical enough misses far to many chances. Club has been crying out for a proper forward for 5 years. We didn’t address it, now we get our just rewards, League One for certain.

For the majority of the match we were the better side but if you do not have even half decent shooters/goal scorers/ strikers you are sunk.
We should have been two goals up before Watford scored. Watford are only an average Championship team but they do have some players who know how to SHOOT and SCORE GOALS. We most certainly do not. It has been obvious for a long while that we are doomed if we can't sign or get in on loan a Championship standard Striker/Goal scorer. The whole world and his dog knows by now that Dykes Armstrong and Kelman are not the answer.
