Reading's League One match against Port Vale was abandoned after hundreds of home fans invaded the pitch in protest against Chinese owner Dai Yongge. Play was stopped in the 16th minute despite Reading urging supporters to leave the pitch. And the game was called off by referee Ross Joyce when they refused. "We want to play football matches, but we also understand people's frustrations," Reading boss Ruben Selles told BBC Radio Berkshire. "They made their point together about what they want. It is their club for life and they find ways to express their point. "From my point of view, I would prefer to play that game, and win that game for them but I also understand what they did." www.bbc.com/sport/football/67899988

I just don't think our owners (owner really) is in that same category.
And I don't think a new owner will be an improvement on our current (and I've expressed my views often about the current - or recently current, Tony)
And I'm certainly deeply concerned re the appointment of our new CEO
And boy have our dreams become a nightmare!

I think we are in a different situation completely at the moment. No one can accuse our owners of not sticking by the club. Meanwhile the Board have been making the wholesale backroom changes that many fans have been demanding for sometime. So they have got what they wanted but as I have said many times be careful what you wish for - Ainsworth being the prime example. Now these changes have been made at least give the new people a chance. We have a 26 year old CEO ( yes he could be my grandson) but maybe that is what we need to carry on the rebuild. Our current problems are on the pitch and I still believe with Marti and a fit squad we can survive Meanwhile the Reading fans have done their club no good at all yesterday. Game abandoned, potential of the 3 points being handed to the opposition and then either another points deduction they cannot afford or a massive fine which they cannot afford or both. What good has that done for the club - nothing but ensuring they drop another division or out of existence.

They're doing everything they can to avoid points deductions but they're damned if they do, damned if they don't. They're getting slagged off because they haven't gone out and bought 2 Championship strikers yet if they did, the FFP punishment would be huge and they'd get slagged off for that. Imagine surviving this season because of those strikers only for the club to face a massive fine/points deduction. THEN we'd be in a similar position to Reading!

There was a point yesterday when the protestors had made their point, and warnings were given to the consequences if they did not return to the stands. The time allowed was communicated, including eventually 'you now have only 1 minute before the game will be abandoned'. 12 or so remained and would not move. I would imagine that all those who felt moved enough to protest were pretty hacked off at the 12 who had to push it to the limit. The consequences for Reading FC far greater due to the actions of a dozen or so.

It'll be interesting to see what the punishment will be. I'm pretty sure it'll be more than just the loss of 3 points.
