I was skeptical at the time as felt it was the players and not the coach that was the issue, even Pep wouldn’t get this lot safe. How wrong was I!
Fantastic achievement by all, only trumped by what Sheff Weds did as I would say their survival was even more impressive.
Much more optimistic about next season although talk of play off is a bit premature. Let’s build and aim for a top half finish.
We need Eze money to really improve the squad coupled with a lot of departures, this will be a great challenge for the club as we are still constrained by FFP until that happens.
But we have a solid foundation now with the back four, and therefore need to add some more flair and quality in the attacking third, particularly a striker (or two).
There are decent free transfers out there but I expect many clubs will be chasing those so it will be competitive. Tyrese Campbell is worth a gamble I think - always felt there was a player in there but it has just not worked for him in his career, yet. Maybe a new club will kickstart him as he showed plenty of potential at a young age.
