I don't like Luton - especially their supporters - bad memories of Kenilworth Road away games.
But credit where it is due, they do deserve promotion.
Last night, from a first leg deficit, they played with spirit, belief and determination - and most importantly for each other as a team.
They have strikers who can score goals - who did not cost the earth, and a manager who knows what he is doing - take note Watford!
The upside is that it shows that it can be done.
The downside is that it demonstrates what a mess we have been these last 7 months.
My mind went back though to the January window of 2022 when our Director of Football wanted to spend what money we had on another striker.
Warburton insisted that to push on it was another midfielder that was required, and he was backed with the loan of Hendrix.
Hendrix who has since scored a double against us before being relegated with Reading - probably part of the business plan overspend there.
Of course, that is just one example of how we made the wrong choices, but having been backed, Warburton then fell out with our owners and oversaw yet another QPR rapid decline.
I liked Warburton, but I think the relationship had broken down and beyond fixing - but 3 managers later (4 if you count Hall) and many are questioning if we have the right man.
My Watford friends in a very similar position, looking at their archrivals prospering under the guy that they did not rate (at the time) and sacked after weeks.
One of the things it shows is that the culture of the club is very important.
I suspect that players still see our rich owners as a key part of our culture - they are certainly going to get paid every month.
So, what I do buy into is that we need a culture change at QPR - and that is what Ainsworth is banging on about.
If we have a big turnover in the squad, there is a big chance that we will struggle at the start of the season (just like Edwards did at Watford).
But it is going to take time to blood the new players and patience is going to be required if we going to get anywhere near the envious success of Luton and Coventry.
IMHO
