Find it hard to believe. Find it even harder to believe that a Third Division Club would be of interest. (About whom I know absolutely nothing)

I saw that too, find it very hard to be true. We cant afford to sack another manager and who would come to us right now. Gareth has got a big job on his hands

Gareth has got a big job on his hands I think that this may depend on what is going on behind the scenes. For example, if Hoos and Ferdinand intend to leave at the end of season. If they have approached a new DofF, he may want his own manager - and both may be waiting to see which division we are in before joining.

Chopping and changing managers makes me sick. If we had kept Warburton we would be comfortable imo. In the Prem, Leicester, Chelsea have just interims. Leicester will probably be relegated. Insane.

I think Ainsworth deserves a chance with his own players. He has struggled since joining, but the problems go deeper than the manager. I think he deserves to be judged fairly at Christmas time, after the Summer clear out.

I thought we brought Ainsworth in so that we had an experienced League 1 manager for next season 😁

I thought we brought Ainsworth in so that we had an experienced League 1 manager for next season 😁 If we thought we were relegated and appointing a man for next season we should have been appointing a manager who would get us promoted at the first attempt - not a man to keep us in League One for 10 years. Re Ricky's comment above about the summer clearout I am curious to see what we clear out. Expect people like Johansen Albert and others of age to leave, our loans to all leave except Richards. If we are relegated some will be sold (if possible) to raise cash and because they want to go. Seny Chair Willock prime examples but with their form and injuries their value will be limited. I have lost track of contract details but regardless of relegation or not we have the likes Dunne Dickie Paal Field Richards, maybe Dykes and a couple of others . Then can Armstrong make it after a year of goals grind - he certainly can hit the net at B team u21 level. On their recent form in theory they are not going to attract much attention and I doubt we will want to offload them. They took us to play-off positions for the first half of last season before injuries and off field issues dragged them down. Same this year. These were rated as good up and coming players, Dickie slated to be in the PL in a season or 2 of joining. We started the last two seasons playing some of theist football I have seen at Loftus Road for a long time. They have not suddenly become "bad" players. So if Ainsworth stays and dumps them who will he be able to bring in - probably on a further reduced budget I believe our issues have been more mental rather than physical (apart from another bad run of long lasting injuries). Many of these players are relatively young in Championship terms and must be so low on confidence and high on confusion with off field issues that they have not coped with the situation. Maybe the Saturday "talk in" followed by conceding 2 soft early goals at WBA were the kick up the backside the players needed. If so my question is why did that sort of clear the air talk happen before? Cricthley maybe too quiet to do it but Ainsworth ?. Anyway 5 games to go, anything can still happen but the only good news is that our fate is still in our own hands - for a while on Saturday we were down to being dependent on others. Saturday will be huge especially with my pet hate team Norwich coming next week after having a longer break after playing this Friday. Burnley will be interesting - Already promoted, probably already champions, just the sort of shock game in this league where we could turn them over. Just hope it does not go to the last game with Nikki Wells sure to send us down!

Just hope it does not go to the last game with Nikki Wells sure to send us down! I think a big clue to Ainsworth's thinking lies in Monday's starting eleven. No loanees started, Dunne preferred at right back with Laird remaining on the bench. Roberts fit according to Leeds, but not in the squad. So I think he is taking a look at what he should keep or lose. Richards given a longer run out in his preferred position. Johansen on the bench, Amos given a chance. Ainsworth will want to bring in his replacement, but Johansen is contracted for next season. I would love Branagan from Oxford. Adomah may want to play more often for a two-year contract in the lower leagues. Amos is out of contract, so time to make a call. We are committed to buying Richards (although I read, not if we are relegated). I would not be surprised if Martin is offered an extension - especially if we are relegated. I think we will listen to offers for Willock, Chair, Dykes, Dickie and Dieng. We would miss Chair the most at present. How the world has changed, until recently I would have said Dieng. But he came to punch and missed for the first WBA goal and spilled the second goal - he has had a pretty poor run - perhaps there will be no takers - maybe Brentford? But I think that we will try to sell for FFP and to give funds to the manager to start again. That task is very different though if we are relegated.

At this stage, if we went down, I think Dykes would command the biggest fee and is probably the only one who'd get Prem offers.
The others would basically be moving to other Championship sides hopeful of getting into the playoff places.

Amazing that I never think about Clarke-Salter. Arguably our best defender on a 4 year deal - should be worth a decent fee - but having only managed 12 appearances this season, he is a big risk.

Yeap and I forgot about him in my quick run down probably for the same reason that we rarely see him. Agreed he is our best defender - if fit and playing 90 minutes. But he has had a terrible season of injuries with us and was injury prone before we signed him. I cannot see him being happy to stay if we go down but then who would take a chance on him unless it is a loan. Hopefully we will still be in the Championship and he will be fully fit and a good asset for who ever is manager. Plus what do we do with Kakay - first division ok championship reasonable squad player. I think it will be an interesting summer - as much about off field issues as the players. If that is the case I expect a long period of silence and little transfer talk until the new season starts and the window gets well under way. What we will need where ever we are playing is some character and leadership - I know what most people think about Joey Barton but would he or someone of his type have accepted that way some of our players have approached things - I think not.

That bit about Joey Barton. Agree. Ditto Vinnie Jones some years back - Neither player I like. But at least they TRY -and they "want" others too as well.
