The crowd today offered good support at the start, but then the nervous display by the team spread to the supporters. Balogun had a very poor game - when he made the error in the first half, w eshould have been one down. He did a second time and the crowd reacted. The third similar error cost us the second goal and any chance of a draw - and the fans were openly hostile chanting 'You are not fit to wear the shirt'. I do not know if it was specific to Balogun or the whole team - but if Balogun is the answer, i dread to think what the question is. We are being relegated because we are awful and deserve to be relegated. One shot on goal - at home to Preston. Dykes kept running off the ball, but no-one passed to him.

Knives and I told you so crowd already rising to the surface and the honeymoons long gone for GA. The ridiculous optimism he had has now been replaced by desperation with statements like” I will do a cartwheel if we get a point” said in jest but must reflect the sense of bewilderment he feels. Critchley’s assasination caused mainly by his bland post match briefings and Ainsworth’s inability to halt this appalling slide proves that there are deep rooted problems in our playing squad and I am not convinced that they have taken to his or indeed Critchley’s style of management or even have any respect for either of them.
Blame Les, Hoos, etc but the fact is these same players were top of the league a few months ago and to believe they have been Sulking ever since Beale shat all over us is preposturus. I have no idea where we or GA go from here and League one, once unthinkable, is now a reality.

Bewildered is exactly what GA is. I think any manager would be to find themselves lumbered with a team that cannot stop making mistakes. Whether his brand of tub thumping optimism to rally the troops and inspire the fans to extend their patience was a reasonable approach. Watching it fail so far is painful.
I wonder what Warnock would have done with these players. It’ll be ironic if he sends us down.

Warnock won’t send us down cos 23 other teams are all better than us. We will finish 22nd for sure. We are that crap we would have been in the bottom three with 6 games to go if Reading didn’t lose 3 points.
Had a nice day away from football today, needed that. See the strollers had a shot on goal today, nice effort lads. Worst group of players at the club for 20 yrs.
Warnock is god, four wins already at a dreadful Hudds team, fantastic effort just like Rotherham few years ago. I think he would soon tell our wasters what he thinks of them for sure.
6 games before we play Orient.

I think he would soon tell our wasters what he thinks of them for sure. 6 games before we play Orient. Worth watching the Warnock interview on ITV highlights programme. He said he had no idea how he has got the results that he has in the last 4 games - he said he just gets players to believe in themselves. I actually do not think that the core problem for our players is not caring. Yesterday, they looked frightened to make the crucial error to concede an early goal (except Balogon who perhaps was trying to show composure on the ball - but instead got caught in possession). But the body language after PNE scored said it all - they look shot to pieces. I think the difference in the Watford game was that we got in front and fought to hold on (and Watford were poor). Players like Dickie and Dunne are a shadow of their former selves. It is also the case that without Clarke-Salter our back three has so little pace. Watch the second goal where Dunne and Balogon were both taken out with a flick, Dunne chased and nearly made it, but Balogon just jogged back and Dickie was not much quicker. Masterson had more pace than the three we are playing as Gillingham fans will testify. Johansen in midfield looks shot as well. Amos came on and offered very little - perhaps he knows there will be no contract extension for him in any division. Chair is very talented, but why does he not pass to Dykes? He only sems happy to pass to Willock or go it alone. I wonder what would have happened had he scored his one on one though.

Thanks Ricky for the summary, all Ifs and buts regarding Chair, does this far to often. How many goals have we scored since Ainsworth in charge got to be about 0.5 goals a game surely. That says it all. Any team scoring that few a goals is going down. We have made such a screw up that should be in the bottom three by today.
If these team carried on in this division and played another season we wouldn’t get 20 points it’s that weak , not an ounce of leadership anywhere.

Like all on here, very depressing at the moment! Can’t think of a worse league campaign than this, trying to recall how bad we were the last time we got relegated to League One but was up North for that season so didn’t see many games but this team stinks at the moment!
Relegation looks inevitable now given our form as the fact our rivals have quite a few matches against each other, where we need draws to help us out, makes the job even harder now. Minimum two wins now required so can’t see that happening. At least we get a clear out and can rebuild but could be several years before we get back to the Championship, and will the owners change? Les must go or take a major pay cut as can’t have a DoF on his salary in League One.
