Very scrappy 1st half. Charlie had our best chance but headed it straight at the keeper. Flag went up for offside but it wasn't. would've been extremely pissed off if it had gone in.

Hanging on by a thread at the minute started the second half very poorly.

Maybe we will improve as we created an opening and hit the woodwork, what a shame

Need to play better than that against Reading but take the point. Just annoying buy a new team every season Forest won.

A pathetic result. We need players that can score goals. Maybe its too many games and no time for training on set plays. Depressing.

They were though to break down and Dykes missed a glorious chance to win the game at the end.
Take the point and move on.

Yeah we need to beat Reading Saturday as Bournemouth have Barnsley. WBA are playing tomorrow and Saturday. Blackburn away at Luton Saturday, they may slip up. Reading have let in 15 in there last 4, we need to get our scoring 🥾 on.

Various odd thoughts Obviously disappointing not to win but we can't win them all. 13 points out of 15 is not a bad haul and more than might have been expected given the games involved.
Dykes is obviously out of form or more likely his confidence is blown but having a go at the striker is not going to help. Gray missing a few games now playing for Jamaica in the World Cup qualifiers does not help.
I feel that our away form may end as good as at home. Away we can sit back or are forced back and score with the quick counter which is where we will miss Gray. At home people know who they have to block to stop us playing and if Willocks knock rules him out we will struggle against Reading.
I wish Albert had not done his "automatic promotion" press conference. As a senior player he should be talking about one game at a time instead of potentially losing the focus of younger players. Our recent performances have not been good despite the results - maybe we are trying to win games rather than trying to play the football that will lead to wins.
The Chair impact. Since we lost him to injury then Afcon our average chances created and shots per game have halved and of course that means we have to take a far higher percentage of chances. Dykes should have done that last night but that's life. For the clubs sake it would be good if Morocco lose their next game and Chair is allowed to return. If they make it through to the last 4 their last game will be on 6th February - too late for when we need him back. After Reading we have to play 7 games in 21 days starting with the Cup game on the 5th and a key home game with Middlesboro on the 9th. Would be great if Chair could be back in the team for that one. Starting with that game we have to play 6 league games in 17 days - madness.
Warburton seems still to talking about getting cover for Chair but I think it is a bit late for the AFCON situation but longer term cover would be good - if we can afford and persuade someone good enough to join who may be just a squad player in the near future.
With Dykes out of form, Charlie having lost a yard of pace and probably not up playing the whole February schedule plus Gray being away and a bit injury prone a good loan deal for a striker would really help. I doubt it would happen but taking Wells back from B.City for the rest of the season would ideal as he hardly gets a look in under Pearson. We should really be looking ahead to next season with Gray's loan to run out and Charlie more likely to be a super sub. But until we know which division we are in it would be difficult to pick up anyone now and the January window is hard at the best of times, especially for a good striker. Maybe Armstrong will be a quick developer and be pushing the squad next season or even later this season.
Great we got our CB/WB cover deal done - I think he will be getting some game time fairly soon.
Onwards and upwards with the Fakes next - they have been shipping goals recently but also putting a few away themselves so Saturday will not be as easy as it appears on paper.

Onwards and upwards with the Fakes next - they have been shipping goals recently but also putting a few away themselves so Saturday will not be as easy as it appears on paper. Swansea / Martin are good at what they do - frustrate and rely on the break. Last night, even when they did venture out, they were so shot shy. We have had the rub of the green lately, picking up more points than our performance sometimes deserved. In the end, I was relieved that we did not let in a sloppy goal at the death - imagine the reaction if that had happened. The ref did not help, both sides guilty of niggly fowls, but Willock is getting very little protection from officials. Watching live, I did not think Charlie was offside for his header, replays did nothing to change my view. He and Dykes were guilty of shooting straight at a pretty weak keeper. I don't think that Lawrence is a realistic target - his wages are apparently circa £30k per week - way beyond our current structure. We may have enquired, but i think he will go to Bournemouth. I think that Paterson is who we are after. However, he hardly fits with our acquisition strategy at 30 years old with no likely resale value. Wells got a quarter of an hour last night - but again, wages would be a problem. But I agree that our strikers are a concern. When we have the three, we seem to be able to rotate and hopefully one gets lucky. But we have three established strikers - but no obvious first choice. I thought that Dykes would have been a better option against Swansea - but he is low on confidence it seems - one goal in 10 appearances. Charlie is not going to win any popularity contest with the opposition - he played Downes and the 4th official having already coaxed him about 10 minutes before when they both should have been booked. I would be surprised if Austin starts on Saturday - I would like to see Thomas get a start. How strange it is that Dykes seems to be wanting a move up when he is so out of touch at the moment. I blame the agents LOL As for Harry's (London) posts last night, at least you put a smile on my face, as did Marc's response. Keep the faith Harry!

Just thinking ahead to Saturday.... Swift will no doubt cause us nothing but trouble, playing through our lines, scoring for fun. Does he just play well against us? But he is out of contract in the Summer, Reading need cash - how about a bid for Swift instead of Lawrence or Patterson? At least it would take him out of the match on Saturday LOL
