Great to see Eze playing again for Palace. He seems to have recovered well.

Agreed, great player for us, would love him to reach the very top and play for one of the big teams. Good luck to him.

Agreed, great player for us, would love him to reach the very top and play for one of the big teams. Good luck to him. The injury has cost Eze so much. He was on the fringe of the national team but now rarely even gets any minutes as a substitute - due mainly to the form of Gallagher. Palace probably only took Gallagher on because of Eze's injury, but now the loanee is keeping their star asset from progressing. His development has gone back one year IMHO. If he is not going to break in to the team soon, he should probably be loaned out to regain his fitness. Would have been a fun replacement for Chair, but I find it hard to see the Africas going ahead. How awful would it be for him to line up against QPR, playing for another Championship promotion chasing team though? All teams may be reluctant to release fringe players in the next window if it decided that clubs have to utilize their squads during Covid peaks, or if the catchup means gave every couple of days. Could be a very different window.

Ezez again not on bench for Norwich game.Covid or achilles setback Not on their injured list so probably Covid, as Palace seem to be suffering with an outbreak. Too much to hope he is just out of favour and looking for some game time for a couple of months (with us) to get going again. He had a bad injury so I just hope it has not done any serious long term damage - it would not be the first time that a highly talented players career would be ruined by an injury.

Maybe click bait but I think he would make more progress under Howe, get more game time and be better appreciated by the Toon army who could adopt him as a folk hero. Plus if we do pick up 9million as a sell on it will do our FFP no harm at all - maybe even sign a player or 2!

Original Sun item www.thesun.co.uk/sport/17673385/newcastle-crystal-palace-eze-transfer-exclusive/SUMMER BRE-EZE Newcastle lining up £45m Eberechi Eze transfer swoop and are confident of landing Palace star after failed loan offerPaul Jiggins 20:00, 16 Feb 2022 Updated: 8:54, 17 Feb 2022 NEWCASTLE are lining up a fresh £45million summer swoop for Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze. The newly-rich Toon offered the Eagles £5m in the January window to take their playmaker on loan for the rest of the season with a view to a £35m permanent switch at the end of the season. That was flatly rejected by Palace because they did not want to sell one of their players mid-campaign, especially to a top flight rival. But Newcastle, with cash to splash on new signings following their megabucks Saudi takeover, are confident they can get a deal done for one of the Premier League’s hottest properties once this season is over. And Palace could be tempted to more than double their money on a player they signed from QPR 18 months ago for £17m. Greenwich-born Eze, 23, scored four goals in 34 Premier League appearances last season before suffering an Achilles injury in May. That has restricted him to just one Premier League start so far this term. Eze was an unused substitute in Palace's 0-0 draw with league newcomers Brentford.

Read similar rumour in the mirror but that notes we have a 20 per cent sell on clause. So would land a handy £9 million.

So we would get 20% of the £25m (£45-£20) equals £5m - but still very good. Of course if the fee is rising to £45m and starts at £30m we would only get £2m Long way to go until the Summer though
