Just a quick survey.
This is basically for my own personal interest, because Sherwood's name always seems to come up when we talk about a new manager. Basically I've no idea why , and I'm not alone but Tim Sherwood seems to me to be the most unliked QPR manager never to manage QPR. The "anyone but him" tag seems to apply to Sherwood alot. I do include myself in this. I don't quite no why, or at least can't remember why.
Now I liked Sherwood as a player at both Blackburn and Spurs and although he has not done much as a manager, would he really be that much of a mistake? I also fear that if he was a disaster Sir Les might also Lose his support from fans and would have to go. Being it would really only be seen as his appointment.
"And in the blue corner " Warburton is fairly obviously gone from Hero to Zero in a matter of months. There were plenty of fans who had him in their top 5 managers of the 21st century in Ricky's thread during Lockdown 1. His signings were seen as great. youth coming in. yet the calls for his head get louder and louder, and he has fewer and fewer fans fighting his corner.
So you can have one or the other Warburton stays or Sherwood comes in ??

If we fail to win either of the next two games, I would rather we made a change. I would prefer someone different to Sherwood ideally. However, if we could not beat Wycombe at home, would be tempted at Sherwood rather than stick with Warburton any longer. The signs are if we can’t pick a win up which would be in 12 games, how many would we pick up in the rest of the season. Results kept going our way through December with Wycombe, Rotherham, Derby and Forest losing but that might not always be the case.
Add, “His signings seen as great “ were they his ? The owners or Les’s ? I’m a believer that had it not been in such a mess with everything with Covid, many more Managers would have lost there jobs already, probably Warburton being one of them. Managers have had a little extra time, which can only be a good thing.
Add, just checked Managers just sacked Football league this season 15 and same time last season 29.

Have to agree with Harr.
"If we fail to win either of the next two games, I would rather we made a change"
Suspect the owners and management view it in a similar light.
I don't honestly know much about Sherwood, as to whether he is the best choice at that point.

I apologize if you - or anyone else - was offended by what was self-evidently a light-hearted poll.

While I find the overall theme of this thread to be disappointing the MAC poll copied from Twitter is absolutely disgusting to suggest 57% of QPR fans want "Satan" as the next manager. Maybe this was said in jest but if so extremely bad taste. I assume Mac would be equally offended and the first to object if someone asked him to add Hitler to the list of potential managers. This is the final straw. Good luck any remaining posters and stay healthy. Is this for real? i mean if it was then surely you have some logic and rationality!! I cannot believe there are some people who would leave a board for these inane suggestions. Its a big bad world out there sometimes, you have to grow up at some point, jeez.

Well Hitler was Satanic but I am reasonably certain that Mac would not have put up a post with the name of Hitler as our new manager. As he said it was a lighthearted post but if a member wishes to resign over this I suppose its his perogative.

I'm not quite sure why this thread is "disappointing" I wanted to try and find out who people would prefer of the two men mentioned. And perhaps get to the bottom of why so many QPR fans are so anti Sherwood. I can't think what he did that offended so many fans . I vaguely remember him turning us down in the past. As to Mac's poll it just confirms this, and if I was on Twitter I would not of bothered with the thread. I thought of including Barton ,but thought he would win .... which he would of if Mac's poll is to be believed. Personally Mac's inclusion of Satan does not bother me just highlights the fact how un-liked Sherwood is he only just beat John Terry!! Anyway I feel the posting of any thread is just to stimulate debate, which I feel is the point of any messageboard.

Talking on a different note, I did find it alarming more wanted Barton Manager more than Sherwood. Ok Barton would get the team motivated but isn’t he a thug at the end of the day?
I’m not Sherwood ‘s biggest fan but can anyone suggest why he is hated upon to be a Manager for us ?

Talking on a different note, I did find it alarming more wanted Barton Manager more than Sherwood. Ok Barton would get the team motivated but isn’t he a thug at the end of the day? I’m not Sherwood ‘s biggest fan but can anyone suggest why he is hated upon to be a Manager for us ? I posted the following on the 7th on the Barton thread. I think the issues are quite different for Sherwood and Barton. It is important in what ever field you are talking that you have respect for your superiors. Given that I am retired and worked for various organisations I have worked for all sorts - good and bad. I always found it very hard to work for a boss who I thought was a w***er. As a boss I also always thought I had to earn respect. Even if Barton was the best tactician and the finest football brain, it is very hard to ask young men to respect him. His conduct record is out there for all to read. His arrogance and contempt is on permanent display. In short, what sort of role model would he be? If he did not get the players or budget he wanted, how would he react? How would he relate to the fans? How would he deal with discipinary matters? Could you trust his version of events at a tribunal? At Fleetwood, he was hired by a supportive, progressive chairman who was apparently a friend....and yet? Then he has his pending court case in 3 months time for the alleged assault on the then Barnsley manager. Given our history with managers, are we so desperate that we have to turn to Joey Barton? My only surprise is that Clint Hill was happy to be his deputy and then got his marching orders with Barton. With Timmy, it is very different. The question for me is what has he acheived for all that bravado? He has always made it clear that he is not a cheap hire and yet, no one seems to be prepared to take a chance on him - why? Possibly because when you scratch the surface, there is very little there apart from enthusiasm and huge self-belief. I have listened to him as a pundit and not heard anything earth shattering - quite the reverse. This weeks 'Open All Rs' Podcast also discusses Timmy's time at Spurs and the feeling there is that the successes from that time had very little to do with Sherwood. Les likes him, but apart from anything else, to hire Sherwood would be putting the jobs of Chris and Les totally on the line. I doubt that Les would stick around if Barton was appointed as he would have a hell of a job as DofF. So Warburton or someone else, but not Timmy & Joey.

I think football fans are pretty bianry where managers are concerned. We all have our switch over points. I know with McClaren that I kept the faith longer than most, wanting him to come good, but then once I had reached the point that I thought he had no way back, I wanted him out. I joined all the rest in being impatient for a decision. It is no secret that many on this board have reached that point with Warburton - and I think find it hard to see beyond 'a new manager - a new start'. I don't think is that clear though, especially as we never seem to get the new manager bounce. But I also think that the choice of replacement can be pretty bianry as well. We want him but definitely not him. I think Sherwood is perceived as 'flash', Ferdinands mate, arrogant pundit, outspoken and unproven. But I think all those things feed into something much stronger....... message boards / key board warriors, opinion are expressed, re-expressed, argued, emphasised and blown out of all proportion. The loudest voice forcing through and influencing others. Many read and do not post, but are still influenced all the same. The Sherwood enigma flows as much from his actions as the baggage that has been built up over the last few years as he has been associated with the job every time vacant - and even when it isn't! As I said above, Barton would be unacceptable to me, Sherwood would not be unacceptable, but I suspect doomed to failure and with the fanbase likely to be intollerant, he would take Ferdinand, Ramsey and even Hoos with him when he walks away from the club once relegated.

Hoos perhaps less so, but if he puts his faith in the re-shape, he too may be culpable. But hey, what do I know?

As I said; I apologize. I didnt think it was or intend it to be offensive I just know that Les Ferdinand was praising Tim Sherwood as recently as July 2019 talksport.com/football/efl/567429/les-ferdinand-exclusive-qpr-role-tough-considered-leaving/ "....During the 50-minute discussion, Ferdinand admitted he wanted a reunion with Tim Sherwood at Loftus Road, who he developed a strong rapport with during their time together at Tottenham. Ferdinand stressed that he was more than happy with Warburton’s appointment, having admired the former Brentford boss from afar for many years, but says the sheer dismay many QPR fans expressed over the potential appointment of Sherwood baffled him. “When you go in somewhere you want people to welcome you and with Tim it felt very much like people had written him off before he had even got the job,” he stated. “I know some people were saying look at the black mafia coming into this football club when Chris and myself arrived. Ferdinand, who is still the west London side’s highest Premier League scorer, was baffled with the reaction to Sherwood being linked with the manager’s job back in April PHOTOSBYBC/BILLY CLEARY 14 Ferdinand, who is still the west London side’s highest Premier League scorer, was baffled with the reaction to Sherwood being linked with the manager’s job back in April “So what about managers like Harry Redknapp, who have been around for donkeys years with the same people around them? “Mark Hughes is another one. He came to this football club and brought in all his own staff. “He’s left this football club and done the exact same thing [at Southampton]. “Have those people been accused of being the ‘old boys club’ who give out jobs to the ‘lads’ to the same extent we have here at QPR? I don’t think so. “You name me a management team that doesn’t bring in the people they know and who they’ve been successful with? “As a threesome Chris [Ramsey], Tim and myself worked really well at Tottenham together, ask anyone at that football club, and they produced a load of young players during that time. “So why would you not want that for your club? Why would you throw all sorts of opposition against it? Why would you not try and replicate that elsewhere? Ferdinand cited the example of Harry Redknapp always having the same backroom team with him at every club he’s been at in response to that criticism getty 14 Ferdinand cited the example of Harry Redknapp always having the same backroom team with him at every club he’s been at in response to that criticism “We’re now in the situation where the owners can’t go throwing in another £100m into the mix. “With Tim Sherwood I knew he would stick to that mantra, he’s produced results at Tottenham. “So when he comes through the door I’m not hoping he’s going to do what we’ve spoke about, I know he’s going to do it.”

MW can not be held for all the blame if he does get fired. Let’s see what we pick up in the next four days, If MW can pick up 4 points, then he gives himself a bit of time for a few games, anything much less, I think he will sadly be gone. If you make a change surely you have to give a New Manager 15-20 games.

There is talk we are looking for 3 other additions, with some experience, one Midfield and two defenders. A couple of shock results and a few fresh faces we might be a different team but things must change now in the next two games. I’m still hoping for a point at Luton with a win against Wycombe we need it.

Without intending to stir up the pot but does anyone else out there feel sorry for anyone whom through birth and not by choice, has the given surname of Hitler? You could be the nicest person in the world, yet cursed with that surname. (Off to check out all the phone books from around the world)
Back to the Poll, I'd rather we signed a pole dancer before any of the Barton, Sherwood, Terry or Warburton brigade were taken on. I do wonder what Clint Hill and Derry are like as coaches. Or is it time for Wild Thing to make an appearance??

I think Mac's post re Les Ferdinand and why he wanted/ wants Sherwood, is kind of what we all know. Still not really heard why QPR fans are so anti Sherwood. obviously the dynamic would be different from their Spurs days, unless Les was over Sherwood then too. I assume Ramsey was coach and would be named coach , or maybe assistant manager. That could mean his job became in danger if Sherwood failed. Still its all ifs and buts and probably irrelevant just interesting.... and I still don't want him and still know not why !!
