A Cavalier manager combined with a batch of VERY dodgy defenders. It has been that way for the last 16 months! Let us not pretend otherwise.
Such a pity because we can play good football and do have some decent attacking players.

The Championship is a really tough league to allow young players to develop.
There is little room for error and mistakes (part of the learning curve for young players) are routinely punished.
It is somewhat of a relentless cauldron, not conducive to attacking football with anything other than an established culture and rounded squad. We are not close to that, but all the brass at Rangers are clearly shooting for that.
Leeds and WBA as examples had the resources to accomplish this.
The Rs will get there but (sorry for the heresy!) relegation may be a part of that timeline. I do strongly hope not.
Alarming examples are Pompey, Wigan and Sunderland, but Wolves, Leeds and others were able to regroup from the drop.

In my view we have done very well with limited resources to bring in decent players. Eze and Furlong have moved on to the Prem. Others who we couldn't pay what they wanted/deserved moved on. In all this we've managed to stay mid table Championship. In my opinion we've over achieved. I have no problems with Warburton. I think he (and the rest of the back office team) have done a remarkable job in the circumstances.

Today just reinforced previous impressions
Goalkeeping: solid Defence: better than adequate Midfield: not too shabby and better than expected, especially TC Striking options: surprisingly poor and not burying opps. Subs: very very limited
