Personally I don't want us to sign Wells, as much as he puts in the effort he is simply to small for what we need. He cant play lone striker and cant hold the ball up.

I would sign Wells as a Forward for sure. Knows the Club and other players pretty well now, that’s half the trouble, always puts in a shift. Would be a definite Yes from me if we could afford him.

I too would like to sign Wells on a permanent basis if we could afford him never gives less than 100 per cent on the field so from me it's a big yes , don't quite understand when Surrey says he is too small for what we need perhaps he could enlighten me ,imo he is a goal scorer and that's what we want

He's just a particular type of striker and isn't appropriate for leading the line in every game. If we can't beat another team's press without lumping it, then Hugill makes more sense - like against Brentford, Wells is not going to win in an aerial fight against the likes of Jansson, so Hugill provides an out ball. Wells isn't a target man. But against teams where we can play it on the floor more, he links up with Eze/BOS/Chair/Pugh better than Hugill with the ball at his feet. And he's scoring goals. It's why teams have multiple strikers of different types.

I like Wells and would be a good permanent signing. Not a profilic scorer at this level as can be seen by his record but will get you 10-15 goals a season when played in the right system. If Eze goes as expected next season then we could switch to two strikers which gets the best out of Wells. If we can free up wages then I think he will be keen to sign as mid table Championship team is probably the best he will get at this stage of his career.

I'd be delighted if we could get Wells on a permanent deal. Intelligent, skilful and hard working. You don't always need height to score goals... he's the same height as Jermain Defoe and Lionel Messi
