A little light half time light reading courtesy of WLS Tomer Hemed scored with a penalty with the final kick of the first half to put QPR in control at Portman Road.
An own goal by Ipswich keeper Dean Gerken gifted Rangers the lead.
Gerken failed to claim Luke Freeman’s 13th-minute corner, instead diverting the ball into the net.
The goal came a couple of minutes after Hemed had headed over from another Freeman corner.
But Hemed made no mistake from the spot after Ebere Eze had been brought down by Janoi Donacien.
The Israel international calmly tucked away his second goal since joining the R’s.
Nahki Wells was left out of the QPR starting line-up, with fellow on-loan striker Hemed this time leading the attack.
Hemed, a substitute in previous games, is being supported up front by Eze.
There was also a starting place for Pawel Wszolek. The Pole came in for Jordan Cousins, who has been nursing an injury and is on the bench along with Wells.
Jake Bidwell was passed fit after recovering from a shoulder injury.

Great away result , i think Bidwell is lucky to get time as i find him very sluggish. But fair play to the team today.

I posted this on the match reports thread by mistake.
Just back at home!
That was the most comfortable win I can recall seeing from us!
Ipswich were awful, but we were quite good.
I'm not sure how you would give a mark to Lumley though. Ten for no mistakes & superb handling or nil for having nothing to do!
No standout players for me. Just a good team performance.
It was really good to meet Bow at the pub before the game. I will leave him to write a proper report!

Few too many to put a proper report together but yeah, remarkably straight forward. Ipswich looked dire, we never stopped trying and 3 points URssssss.

Great to get another win. Well done Rangers.
Is that 3 away wins already this year ( faints )
LLLL. WdWW. LL. WDW If you considered our form in the last 9 games 17 from 27 very good indeed.
Hopefully we can pick 3-4 more points up this week, certainly be happy with 3 👍

What a great day out.
First up, great to meet Bow for a pint before the match; it no surprise that he was great company. Very bizarre toilets in that pub though. Just to ensure you don't miss any of the action, they've got television screens in the urinals. I don't mean screens on the walls, actual in the urinal - if only Villa had been the early match!
Terry described the match as the most comfortable victory he could remember - and who am I to argue? Lumley was required to make possibly two saves all match, neither stretched him at all. Our defence was pretty composed and we always seemed to have a spare defender to step in should one of his team mates get caught out.
Luongo's tackling was important to us retaining control and kept us ticking over nicely in the middle. I was pleased to see Wszolek start. Despite his performance being a bit of a curate's egg, he provided width that we are not used to and enough pace to keep their left back pushed back. Freeman was Freeman. Every thing revolved around him, through him and at times failed because of him.
I though that Eze was poor in the first half, but came to life after the break. He failed to score when he looked certain to, but showed some great touches and control and curled a beautiful shot which clipped the bar before going over. He combined effectively with Hemed picking up on a number of flicked headers but without the pace to really capitalise on them.
We really should have won by more, but I'd have happily settled for 2-0 before the match started. A great start to a hectic week's football.
Finally, thanks to Terry for his hospitality and Mrs Terry for dropping us at the pub and picking us up after the match.

Good away win and clean sheet.
Feel for Ipswich, though, they already look doomed.

Good away win and clean sheet. Feel for Ipswich, though, they already look doomed. Too early I think. I suspect they'll give their manager the boot before the next international break and instal one of the 'old guard' to try and keep them up. My money's on Steve Bruce, but Allardyce is a possibility (if he's promised some cash). Even Moyes or Bilic could be outsiders.
