8 shots on goal, none on target though. Derby have had 3 shots, 1 on target which was the goal of course.

Hull, Sheff Wed, Barnsley, Burton & Sunderland all losing, Bolton 1-1 Reading. Couldn't be better unless we nick it at the last.
Edit: Brum losing as well

All over, 1-1. I'd have taken that at the start if I'm honest.

Just don’t lose to Sunderland win or even draw.

Just on the bus back. What a frustrating but ultimately satisfying game.
Quick thoughts. We looked a bit nervy switching to a different system - you could see flashes of the kind of link up we'd need to make it work but it was a bit ponderous at times.
Dominated the first half and typically Derby score with their only shot on target.
Main positives, bar the result, was Smyth and Eze. Smyth got knocked about a hell of a lot but almost seemed to enjoy it. You don't realise just how averse we've been to running at oppo players, taking them on and crossing/shooting until you see him play. So many times I expected a safe ball sideways from him, but he's always on the front foot, desperate to power forward. Obviosuly very early doors but he genuinely looks quite special at the moment. Joy to watch. Eze looked more composed than his other outings - confident, quick, keen to give and go. Drew a save out of Carson.
Negatives would be the first goal which, for all of how unlucky we were considering how we dominated, was far far too easy for Derby. Palmer just danced through us.
Up front is nothing new. Smith labours but it feels like he needs 5 chances with his head to convert one at the moment. Washington again had some nice runs and was tenacious but ultimately toothless. Can't recall him creating a serious chance. Fantasy stuff with our lack of money but a better striker and that game should be out of sight.
Classic referee gripe. Smith sandwiched in the box, yet again...no penalty.
But overall, really happy. A point against a top side. Didn't give up, worked hard. Other results in our favour. Absolute BULLET header from Luongo. Point the least we deserved.

Should also say that Furlong starting was a breath of fresh air too. I'd keep the back four and swap Washington for Eze probably, based on this.

Happy enough with a point.
Sunderland are there for taking, added to that they lost two more defenders last night and barely have any fit defenders. We really ought to be winning this game Saturday and opening up the gap further. I guess I would take the draw but with Villa and Fulham to come, I would rather we got the win now. If we drew and the worst happened, then lost our next two games we could be sucked back into things, if we win, huge daylight between us and the way the bottom five are playing at the minute, you can see 46 points being enough, not 50 and we might only need one more win for safety.

We were the best team last night & would have deserved to win. A far better performance from Rangers in a reasonably enterrtaining game.
There were meany good players, but I thought the stand outs were Smyth, Furlong & Robinson. Added to this, Eze was very easy on the eye & I would like to see him in the starting line up.
Smyth was everywhere & didn't give the Derby players any time or space. Add to that, he ran at defenders & committed them into being beaten or bringing him down. He is young & raw, but is on the verge of being an automatic choice.
Furlong is amazing in the air. I don't think he is the tallest of players but his leap is prodigious, winning many headers tht he has no right to. His link up play with Smyth was also a joy to behold.
In the first half there were at least five times that Robinson won crucial tackles/interceptions when he was our last defender. A brilliant display & he is a lot faster than many give him credit for. I can't comment on whether this continued in the second half as he was up other side of the pitch & you can't follow that closely from the Upper Loft! A pity that he wasn't one of the players involved that the Derby man walzted past for their goal. He would have stopped him!
Now on to Saturday & let's hope that we give a similar perfotmance!

Good summary Bow....I thought the youngsters really stepped up to the plate last night and all in all a point was the least we deserved, what a bummer Lynch went for power rather than slotting it either side of Carson at the end.
I thought Scowen and the midfield generally had a much better game (couldnt have been any worse!!) but he in particular is guilty of slowing up play by constantly looking to turn back on himself, I guess its a lack of confidence thing but is very frustrating. On the flip side Smyth and Eze were the opposite always looking to run at opponents which is exactly what the Rangers faithful need ie something/somebody to get bums off seats.
I quite enjoyed the game overall.

Sounded like a decent game last night and a good performance all round.
Derby's goal looked like absolutely terrible defending on our part, but happy with the overall performance.
A draw against a top-5 side is perfectly respectable and most other sides below us lost or drew, so we're looking safer than we were this time yesterday.
Washington works hard but needs to finish more chances. Could well be on his way in the summer unless he has a dramatic change of fortune.

Yes, agree with the above.....and we have to remember that it was Derby! We used up all our Derby luck in one game and have got nothing from them ever since. With that in mind, I would have readily taken a point before a ball was kicked and especially later when chasing the game. There are some weeks when the results all seem to go against you, but last night's set was quite astonishing. Sunderland also lost 2 defenders to injury in their first half. Shame that Sylla was not fit enough to be sub and replace the tiring Smith last night. Could have been a different outcome. With that in mind, the subs bench was a little surprising. Smith has been worked hard recently, Washington has been out of form and yet no room on the bench for Oteh or Osayi-Samuel. With Perch and Lynch selected instead, I think seniority was preferred to a tactical option. But the result was so important following the Forest result. Had we lost last night, even with the other results, panic would have set in on the forums and may well have spread to the players. With Villa and Fulham just around the corner, the atmosphere on Saturday would have been so tense, but hopefully, the fans can now relax and cheer the team on. If we can get to safety, the youngsters may also get more of a run, and then LF can also start the recruitment process for next season. I remain encouraged by the younger players coming through. It is the true measure of progress in my opinion, irrespective of how many points we end up with (provided we are safe).

Now just the 16 from points 18 though, did anyone notice the 2 goals conceded from 6 games.
Last Manager that ever had our defence in order, no Manager since has for sure.
