Ollie said he wanted to win and keep the confidence going hence his stronger squad. Sadly yet again he couldnt deliver.
I agree totally about the Burton inevitable comment too.

We've not got passed this round without a replay since the Trevor Sinclair goal game against Barnsley in 1997. What a depressing cup record.
The fact we played ok actually made it worse. Least when we've been crap you know what you're getting early doors. As nomar said, most nailed on bet in sport.
Small mercy we didn't draw and have to go to MK on a Tuesday to their half empty stadium with smatterings of plastic fans.
What other fans chant rarely gets to me but them singing "we won it in '88" really, really pissed me off. Bloody didn't, zombie franchise club that shouldn't exist. That was Wimbledon.

Sorry guys but I just woke up. Saw the results, did a fist pump in the air and laughed. Now I await the usual bullshit clichés. Has Holloway become the cheap man's Mark Hughes?

OK it’s not Ollies fault because of the results. 2 wins in 12 it’s just bad luck with injuries then, silly me.

I’m not saying absolutely everything is IH fault but ultimately the results are down to the coaches and players. However, players performances still really falls under the coaches responsibilities. Coaches are judged on performance and our latest performances are two wins in twelve, fact.
Every team within the divisions gets injuries, every team gets player mistakes, every team in the league gets days of good luck and bad luck with refereeing decisions.
I fully realise we played better yesterday but at the end of the day, it was another loss to a team a team a Division below us.
Anyhow I won’t harp on any more about it 57, we are out of another Cup, no great surprise there. More interested if we will cave in away at Burton or show some spirit and get some points.
I do put a big chunk of the blame on the Coaches though for our poor results.

As certain as the sun will rise in the morning and set in the evening, QPR won’t win an FA Cup 3rd round tie without at least a replay.

So Bow. We played alright. The referee was sh**e,t the weather was awful. Only 10,000 fans showed up, for a one goal win over a low lower division side. Holloway had the look of someone lost in a "how can this be happening"
stupor. Close to Mark Hughes face watching us lose game after game. Frankly, we are a terrible side, on a slide to 3rd tier. Burton, will be only too happy to see us coming. Sorry Bow, thats my take.

Attendance: 6,314 (1,163 away) If that’s the best one of our strongest teams can do at Home against a 19th position League One team , well I’m disappointed personally even if we don’t do Cups.

Good to see Forest taking the Cup seriously and getting a great result. A bit of New Manager Impetus. In fact when was the last time we scored four goals? Why can’t we do this any more

A few thoughts on the match for anyone who is interested in what actually happened on the pitch.
This was like an episode from Land of the Giants; the MK Dons made Cardiff look like a small team. In the first half, whenever MK had possession they pushed three big forwards up onto our back three which not only took away our advantage of a spare man at the back, but also made Baptiste, and subsequently Hall, reluctant to push forwards when we had the ball which has been a cornerstone of our tactics this season. They then looked to push a couple more forward in midfield and try to outnumber us in midfield which ensured that Chair stayed back alongside Scowen. We countered this in the second half by pushing Hall forwards, but were helped because MK had given up all thoughts of possession by then.
Chair looked like a bit of a live wire in the first half, but faded in the second. I like the look of him, we will probably see a lot more of him next season. Eze exhibited some nice touches, but no urgency; he looks like a luxury player.
Cousins offered little as right wing back. Wszolek was far more threatening but seems very reluctant to actually attack his full back. My mate Beth has suggested that this is due to his role as wing back and knowing that there is little protection behind him, but he is far more likely to cut back and cross from deep. On the occasions that Scowen or Freeman played him through with a ball inside their fullback he attacked it with vigour but rarely beat the first defender with his cross.
It is telling that the best crosses came from Bidwell, one of which Smith heading tamely at their keeper, another, at the death, Hall nodded over when it seemed easier to score. If there was an award for most improved player this season, Bidwell would get my vote.
Quite why refs give so little protection to tall forwards is beyond me, but Smith was manhandled by the MK defence all match long. He was pushed and pulled in all directions and almost lost his shirt at one point, but was only awarded one free kick. The worst decision the ref didn't make was ignoring a blatant penalty in the first half when Chair was poleaxed by one of their players (Cisse?) jumping for a header. It was far more a penalty than either of the recent awards that I've seen against us.
MK Dons time wasting reached epic proportions in the second half. Their players were dropping like flies, feigning head injuries which regularly killed any momentum we had and, after having taken the lead through the most ridiculous of circumstances, they dropped at least one of their giants back into defence meaning that any crosses which evaded the first blocker were desperately unlikely to reach their intended target.
While the few incisive breaks we made were met with cynical fouls, we rarely looked like scoring. The match had draw written all over it until Scowen's error. He would have been my MOM without that, Robinson takes that accolade instead. I sincerely hope we can hold on to him when his contract expires this summer.

Reality is we lost at Home to team near the bottom of League One with nearly our strongest team.
IH now lost 7 of his last 8 3rd round FA Cup matches, not sure it’s just QPR that don’t do Cups.
Onwards and upwards to Burton

Some fizzy Thai drink Cup now isn’t it. Count me out of drinking any of that stuff We are certainly Kings of the Cups these days.

QPR for the last 20 years have been an "A Cup" sized club where as fans would prefer a "DD sized cup" I think. Something with substance and longevity with the ability to go all the way.

Consistently poor in Cups Consistent in the Championship now too. 15-16 26 games 31 points (finished 60) 16-17 26 games 32 points (finished53) 17-18 26 games 30 points ( to be continued) We have found our level at last. Still we are building to be back in Prem in 2 years ...... lol

I love watching the FA Cup 3rd round draw and playing the ‘which lower league/non league team is going to knock us out of the cup this year?’ game. It’s basically a free bye for whoever draws us, you’re guaranteed to make the 4th round draw.

What with us and Bristol C both losing , its one of only two guaranteed Championship games weekend of 27th Jan. Although still some replays to be played out yet.
