Apparently Reports that Everton want us to pay most of Kones 40 k per week if we want him on loan, so we are looking elsewhere?
We are also showing interest in a Rotherham forward Ward, who has 10 goals this season for the basement team

From westlondonsport www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-bid-ward-luke-freeman-bristol-city-talksQPR have Ward bid rejected and discuss Freeman dealBy David McIntyre 16/01/2017 QPR have had a £1.2m bid for Danny Ward rejected by Rotherham and have resumed discussions with Bristol City over a potential deal to sign Luke Freeman. Forward Ward, 25, has scored 10 goals for Rotherham this season and a number of Championship clubs are showing an interest in signing him. Ward began his career at Bolton and had a four-year spell at Huddersfield before joining Rotherham in 2015, initially on loan. He scored four goals for the Millers last season. Rangers, who sold Sebastian Polter last week, are keen to sign at least a couple of forwards during this month’s transfer window. They have offered Bristol City £250,000 for winger Freeman, whose contract expires at the end of the season, when he would be able to leave Ashton Gate on a Bosman free transfer unless he signs a new deal. Rangers will look to sign Freeman, 24, on a pre-contract agreement if the Robins, who have rejected the bid, refuse to sell.

Wonder if we will go back in? Bristol City and Rotherham wanting to hold onto there players to try and keep them up I guess. Depends how much they're willing to offer for him I suppose but one would assume the first offer wouldn't be the maximum. Don't know much about him but 10 goals in a very poor Rotherham side is impressive, sort of like Austin in our last Premier League season. He seems to fit the bill as far as being an experienced Championship striker, so maybe worth a few more scheckels.

From the BBC. Will this be the end of Chery's move to China?! www.bbc.com/sport/football/38636082Chinese Super League reduces number of foreign players allowed to play4 hours ago From the section Football Chinese Super League clubs will only be allowed to play three non-Chinese players per game in their next season - which begins in March. A rule change has reduced the number of foreigners allowed in a move which could slow down the wave of big-money signings from Europe. Chelsea striker Diego Costa has been linked with a move to China that would be worth £30m a year. A statement said the new measures will address "irrational investments". Previously the rule was "4+1" - four foreigners of any nationality plus one Asian player in a matchday squad. Teams will now also be required to name two Chinese players aged under 23 in their matchday squads, with at least one in the starting XI, with the Chinese Football Association also looking into "signature fees and other illegal activities" in recent transfers. Chelsea midfielders Oscar and John Mikel Obi have already moved to China this month, while former Manchester United and Manchester City forward Carlos Tevez reportedly became the world's highest-paid player when he joined Shanghai Shenhua last month. Shenhua would be one club hit by the new rules as they have six non-Chinese players in their squad, including Tevez, former Chelsea forward Demba Ba and ex-Newcastle striker Obafemi Martins. Costa has been linked with a move to Tianjin Quanjian, who signed Belgium midfielder Axel Witsel for a salary of more than £15m a year this month. 'A move to foster local talent' - analysisBBC China correspondent Stephen McDonellChinese teams have been paying reportedly exorbitant sums to lure international stars like Carlos Tevez and Axel Witsel. Now, the new rules will especially affect players from the Asian region - like Australians and Koreans - who were able to be chosen on top of the previous international count of four. It is hoped the changes will foster more local talent at the expense of overseas players.

I think we may make this one stick!

Exactly 57.
And as a winger reliant on speed, at 32 he's no spring chicken...
£3m is ridiculous.

The Chery China transfer to Guizhou Zhicheng - has it happened yet? Don't think I've seen anything on the Offish, but the Chinese seem to have announced it a few days back... ...and Wikipedia is claiming "Tjaronn Inteff Chefren Chery (born 4 June 1988) is a Dutch footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Guizhou Zhicheng." and... "On 13 January 2017, Chery transferred to Chinese Super League newcomer Guizhou Zhicheng. [9] with 'verification' citation.... [9] "贵州智诚宣布荷兰新援加盟 新赛季一起征战中超" . Sina. 13 January 2017. Hope it's gone through.
I read that the Chinese have brought in new regulations to curtail 'silly-money' deals - thought it would be just our luck to not be able to get some decent cash for Chery...

The cash restrictions may be more of a government driven thing and doubt it would impact Chery - more aimed at the mindless amounts being quoted for Costa and the like. I was hoping we might be the beneficiaries of some mindless spending... Meanwhile, FourFourTwo has Chery in China already too...

From westlondonsport www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-want-sign-man-utd-youngsterQPR want to sign Man Utd youngsterBy David McIntyre 17/01/2017 QPR have made an enquiry about Manchester United midfielder Sean Goss. The Germany-born 21-year-old, who can also play at left-back, joined United from Exeter City in 2012. He is yet to make his senior debut but has been an unused substitute for United and was last month invited to train with the first-team squad by boss Jose Mourinho. A number of Championship clubs have expressed an interest in Goss, who spent much of last year sidelined by a back problem. QPR would like to sign him on a permanent basis but would also potentially be interested in a loan deal.

From the Bristol Post www.bristolpost.co.uk/luke-freeman-holds-cards-in-contract-and-qpr-situation-and-will-unlikely-play-for-city-in-fa-cup/story-30061454-detail/story.htmlLuke Freeman holds cards in contract and QPR situation - he will unlikely play for City in FA CupBy a_stockhausen | Posted: January 17, 2017 Luke Freeman was conspicuous by his absence when Bristol City's players boarded the team bus to Fleetwood on Monday. A target for Championship rivals Queens Park Rangers, the winger is stalling on signing a new contract at Ashton Gate. And until that situation is resolved, there is little or no prospect of head coach Lee Johnson considering him for selection. Out of contract at the end of the season and considering his options, Freeman appears to hold all the cards in a scenario has effectively puts City between a rock and a hard place. On the face of it, the former Arsenal and Stevenage player simply cannot lose. He is wanted by two clubs, both of whom are offering him attractive terms to sign for next season. Although the situation appears to have reached an impasse in recent days, with Freeman refusing to sign for City, Johnson omitting him from the squad and QPR still considering whether or not to come in with an improved bid, one of the following scenarios will play out. Either Freeman will commit his future to City by signing the deal currently on the table, or he will be sold before the end of the January transfer window. But there is a third option, one whereby Freeman stays at Ashton Gate, sees out the remainder of his contract without playing, safe in the knowledge that he has agreed a pre-contract arrangement with QPR, who will get him on the cheap in the summer. If Rangers boss Ian Holloway wants to bring the 24-year-old to Loftus Road during this transfer window, he will have to meet City's asking price. But given the circumstances, he might choose to bide his time, test City's resolve during the final week of the window and attempt to land Freeman at a bargain-basement price. City face an unenviable Catch-22 situation; do they cash in on a player they value now or risk him leaving for nothing as a free agent at the end of the season? As for Freeman himself, he is almost certainly being advised to delay signing anything in order to keep his options open. Given that he has to make a living, the player's agent will no doubt prefer him to be transferred this month. It seems reasonable to assume that, if the player's intention is to remain at Ashton Gate beyond the end of this season, he would already have put pen to paper. City have a plethora of players who can perform Freeman's role, Jamie Paterson and Callum O'Dowda chief among them, and that makes it likely that Johnson, above, and the Ashton Gate board of directors will seek to cut their losses by moving the Londoner on this month. The ball is currently back in QPR's court and it is incumbent upon the London club to come back in with a realistic offer, one that is broadly acceptable to City. If I look back at Hollaway first stint he was very driven by character in his signings...Bircham, Gallen, Palmer etc etc but he did buy a few dogs too. I hope that the club is still staying true to its approach to talent management i.e. Holloway says he want X Ferdinand say you can have one of these 5. Still think thats the way to go

But stick with the format they have been using so far but no bad temperament players lke Jet. I think the interest in the Man Utd youngster and Lua Lua suggests we will carry on as we are doing, which is the best thing. We will still get the odd dodgy one but as long as they are not huge money, then worth a gamble I guess. Once Chery departs, would be surprised if we then dont sell El Khayati who has been pretty poor, maybe loan. Gladwin has gone out on loan now.

No, not too many dogs Eus I'm currently acting as agent for our dog, Woody... As you can see, fast and ferocious in the tackle. He always gives 110%, chases everything, never lets the ball bounce twice before getting a challenge in - he has a great temperament and unstintingly loyal.
