From skysports www.skysports.com/football/news/11711/10761823/steven-caulkers-move-from-qpr-to-lokomotiv-moscow-in-jeopardySteven Caulker's move from QPR to Lokomotiv Moscow in jeopardyBy Sky Sports News HQ Last Updated: 09/02/17 9:02pm QPR defender Steven Caulker's move to Lokomotiv Moscow is in doubt, Sky Sports News HQ understands. The 25-year-old centre-back has struggled to make an impact at Loftus Road since making a big-money move from Cardiff in 2014, spending time on loan at Southampton and Liverpool last term. Caulker has made 14 appearances for QPR this season but has been in talks with Lokomotiv about a shock move to Russia. Lokomotiv jumped the gun with several posts on social media suggesting the deal was close to completion last week and on Thursday posted a Twitter video suggesting the move was "cancelled". SSNHQ understands that a deal is tentatively still being discussed, although a departure is now looking increasingly unlikely. Caulker, who has made one senior appearance for England, has not played for QPR on October 28 due to a hip injury.

Any news on Caulker anywhere??
Meanwhile, WLS say Smithies is on the verge of signing a new deal, so that will give the place a lift.

Sadly I will be surprised if Smithies or Luongo sign new contracts until we look a bit safer in the table. Both new contracts have been dragging on for a few weeks now if we believe the press reports and regardless of what the players might want or be saying I bet their agents are holding back sniffing cash from summer moves if we go down. Others at the club have signed new contracts recently and they were all done and dusted quickly and quietly. Sadly I will also be surprised if the Caulker deal goes through now - the only way I can see that happening now is if we foot a large chunk of his wages. Maybe the Russian's have seen him in training and realised he is not fit or good enough, maybe his "injury" has flared up again or was never cured, maybe he telephoned them too many times in December or more likely maybe it's just a case of not wanting to take on a p**s head after his court case.

Hopefully this can spur Luongo on a bit now. Thought he looked a bit weak for the last couple of games in midfield. Let the Huddersfield midfield boss him to much. But its a team game and every player goes through a tricky patch and to me great news he has signed. Quite a few games he has been our best player on the pitch.
Wouldn't be surprised if Smthies signs this week but would bet my house on Smithies contract having a Div 1 get out clause in it, probably while its taken so long.
Must admit could not believe the amount of Stick Nedum was getting on social media this week, unbelievable. I know he really isnt a Captain but People actually making up videos of Nedums worst bits, get a life.

Hopefully Smithies will follow on - I just do not buy the line that the delay is with people who have busy talking about a new stadium.
Now I am firmly on a run of incorrect predictions let's see......I know ......we are going to lose every game for the rest of the season. That should do the trick.
One point on Luongo - and I can only comment from seeing things on TV and feeds - I think his form may be down to change in formations as much as anything else.
Maybe if Caulker comes back people will lay off Ned!.
Exactly, look at the way Caulker behaves compared to Ned. Dont get me wrong, I would much rather a different captain at QPR but I find the way some people are going on, its sickening. Trying to bomb him out and yet he has been a good servant for some years. I say lay off him, if we scored a few more goals we would be picking up more points.

This is starting to smell like Bosingwa all over again. Let's hope he wants to go to Russia, and that they want him. Then we sack him for his public drunken behaviour bringing the club into disrepute. The Russkies can now get their man for free (being out of contract). We lose the 15 month wage bill. And Caulker gets his move.

From getwestlondon www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/qpr-count-18-million-cost-12614600QPR count £1.8 million cost of failed January transfer for ex-Liverpool loaneeHoops defender back where he started as he looks to put problems both off and on and the pitch behind him BY PAUL WARBURTON 05:30, 17 FEB 2017 Steven Caulker is set to stay the rest of his four-year deal at QPR after a loan move to Locomotiv Moscow finally collapsed this week. Rangers brokered the deal for the £30k-a-week central defender, who has 18 months left on his contract. The Russian side pulled out for unspecified reasons although it little helped Caulker was fined for being drunk and disorderly at Clapham railway station earlier this month. The one-cap England international was was fined £650 and forced to pay £85 in costs, and magistrate Elizabeth Hopper told him: “It’s the third time you have been in trouble for doing things out in the street you should not be doing.” Caulker suffered a hip problem at the beginning of January and is a further two weeks away from rejoining the squad. The defender who cost Hoops £8m from Cardiff in July 2014 has not featured for Hoops since the 2-0 home defeat to Brentford at the end of October that all but did for previous boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. Previous Caulker loans to Southampton and Liverpool in 2015-16 totalled an underwhelming six Premier League appearances, and Rangers might find it hard to loan or sell a player whose wages for the rest of his deal total around £1.8m.

I suppose this should be in the summer 2017 transfer gossip thread but as there isn't one yet I'm putting it here. From westlondonsport www.westlondonsport.com/features-comment/transfer-gossip-qpr-said-chasing-winger-along-stoke-wolves-birminghamTransfer gossip: QPR again linked with wingerBy West London Sport 06/03/2017 QPR want Oxford United winger Marvin Johnson, it has again been claimed. Johnson, then with Motherwell, was linked with a move to Loftus Road last summer despite the R’s not showing an interest in signing him. He joined Oxford United, where his performances have apparently attracted attention from higher-division clubs. The Birmingham Mail have picked up on speculation that Wolves and Birmingham City are keen on the 26-year-old. QPR and Stoke City are also in the hunt to sign him, it is claimed.

Proven goalscorer at this level though. Sometimes you have to take a chance on players with reputations.

Very true Nomar, but I've been impressed with Ollie's focus on bringing in players who really want to be here. If there's any truth to the rumour, and if McCormack really wants to come, then all well and good - I guess Ollie and Les will find that out. If he does come, he'll be in good Drunk-in-Charge-of-a-Range-Rover company with Caulker [from Wiki]... Mind you, he tops that by being found guilty of ...LITTERING!Disgraceful!

Just worthless speculation though... HITC put 2 and 2 together and get 5. Their logic: Holloway said (on 10th January!) that he might be interested in players with Championship experience (didn't we sign Luke Freeman, Lua Lua, Matt Smith and more since then...??). Ben Watson has played 4 Prem games for Watford this season. SO, they reckon he must want a move in the summer, so why not come to us. Classic case of no-story 'click bait'.
