Gladwin Loan Out Also David McIntyre/West London Sport QPR plan to loan Gladwin out again By David McIntyre 19/01/2016 QPR are ready to send Ben Gladwin back out on loan. Gladwin, signed from Swindon in the summer, rejoined the Robins on loan in October after making only three first-team appearances for Rangers. He was recently recalled so that manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink could assess him, and the midfielder played in QPR’s FA Cup defeat at Nottingham Forest. Hasselbaink is now minded to allow Gladwin to leave Loftus Road again, with a number of clubs keen to snap him up. www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/football-wls-qpr-plan-to-loan-midfielder-out-again

Am I missing something here? Why does any Premier League team want Rob Green for? Because he is still a good keeper and can do a good job for many PL teams.
Half the negative comments on here about him only come about because of his salary and clauses in his contract. Sure he has made a few mistakes but look at the mistakes being made by keepers in the PL right now.
This time last year he was the one player who was giving us a slim chance of staying in the PL - without his performances (which earned him a recall to the England squad) we would have been down by Christmas.
People recently have started again to blast on about us not keeping McCarthy but they cannot get the fact into their brains? that he had a release clause and did not want to play in the Championship. So that situation was totally beyond our control. Promising him he would be the No 1 would have made no difference because we are in the Championship and he wanted PL - end of story
Wrong. The only one giving us a chance to stay up last season was Charlie Austin. Green didn't have much protection back there but didn't help himself with his kicking. Most fans feel we should have let him walk when his last deal expired. You can now see the idiocy of that decision as we have a farcical situation where we don't want to play him and apparently don't have enough faith in Smithies to trust him long term. They could have let Green walk and played Mccarthy. If McCarthy left anyway they had Bentley apparently desperate to come to us and we still effed that up. I don't take any joy ragging on my club but there are some unbelievably awful decisions that repeatedly get made by us and this whole Green nonsense is a prime example of this.

Bamford just scored two goals against us in Chelsea u21 win , beat us 5-0. Sign him on loan . Elsewhere Bristol City seem to think they have got Gladwin on loan. Would be good experience for him to get Championship experience rather than League 1 but should we be loaning to a relegation rival

If Washington's deal goes through and Polter is improving will we be able to guarantee that game time. Probably not but then Bamford should understand about having a squad and fighting for a place. If he is good enough he will get it; If he wants it by right he has the wrong attitude imo.
Gladwin to B City is fine if he is not going to get game time with us. I might want a recall option just in case he does too well for them and they get close to us

I don't want any player to have a "Guaranteed" Starting place. If he's good enough for us, he'll get in...But no "Pre-Commitments"

Polter and Washington would seem the first choices if/when we play two strikers. Signing Bamford on loan (maybe with a view to buy?) could signal the end for JET. While we need to see how Washington adapts to the Championship and whether Polter's improvement continues, but Bamford/Washington/Polter could be half decent for a more serious promotion push next season. Anyway, happy enough with today's business

I think JET was probably given one last chance when he joined us but he has not taken so far. He has talent but so did Fat Boy Slim of Benfica.
We need 3 strikers even if only to cover injuries and suspensions - we know what happens when we hope 1 or 2 are enough and one gets crocked just as a transfer window closes. Hopefully one day we may see 2 on the pitch at the same time and the other as a sub.

QPR are being linked with a move for Charlton winger Ademola Lookman
A string of top-flight clubs have been tracking the talented 18-year-old, who has been out with a hamstring injury but is now close to a return. And The Sun newspaper say that Rangers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink could make a bid for Lookman after the £4million sale of striker Charlie Austin to Southampton. Arsenal, Tottenham and Crystal Palace have also been mooted as interested parties in Lookman, who had dazzled in his Championship outings this season before his recent spell in the treatment room.

Not sure why Bamford would come here when he can have his pick of the top playoff clubs.
Wishful thinking if you ask me.

....and also for the record from the Offie QPR SIGN STRIKER CONOR WASHINGTONPUBLISHED 14:45 19th January 2016 by @qprfc R's clinch signing of Peterborough hot-shot ... QPR announce signing of Conor Washington from Peterborough United Striker signs three-and-a-half year deal at Loftus Road 23 year-old available to feature against Wolverhampton Wanderers fixture this weekend QPR have completed the signing of Conor Washington from Peterborough United. The 23 year-old has put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half year deal at Loftus Road, after Rangers agreed an undisclosed fee with the League One club for the striker’s services Washington has scored 15 goals for Posh this season, with 14 in his last 19, and the in-form front-man expressed his delight at clinching a switch to the Championship with QPR, commenting: “As a striker, having someone like Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink here as manager was a massive pull for me. He's been there, seen it and done it at the very highest level and that can only benefit me as a player. “I feel I've improved as a player over the last 18 months. My mentality has changed and I'm a better player for it. But I also feel there's a lot more to come from me and I believe I can properly go on to fulfil my potential at QPR. “I know I've still got a long way to go in my development but I'm relishing the chance to prove my worth. I've proved I can do it at every level I've played at so far, so I don't see any reason why I can't do it here with QPR. “I can’t wait to pull on the QPR shirt and show the fans what I’m capable of.” Washington becomes Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s first signing as QPR boss and the R’s gaffer is pleased to have added to his attacking options. He told http://www.qpr.co.uk: “Conor is a player I’ve admired for a while now, so I’m delighted he’s agreed to join us. “I’ve seen first-hand what he’s capable of and his all round game has always impressed me. Of course he’s still got a lot to learn – he’s by no means the finished article – but I am convinced he has what it takes to succeed at a higher level with us. “He’s raw, he’s hungry, he’s determined. He’s quick and he’s versatile, which is important. He can play on his own up there; in a two; or on the shoulder of another striker. He’s got great pace to get in behind and that’s something we need when you look at our current attacking options. “Importantly, he’s got the right mentality to be a QPR player. He is relishing the opportunity to play for this club and he wants to wear the shirt with pride.” Washington, who will wear the number 9 shirt, is eligible to make his QPR debut in this weekend’s live Sky Sports showdown against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Loftus Road on Saturday lunchtime. Must say id rather lose Fer and Sandro first. Sort of agree Harr. Phillips is generally disappointing but occasionally brilliant, although we've been so badly served by wingers in recent times that perhaps what I regard as brilliant is actually only what should be regarded as standard! I'd rather lose Fer and Green ahead of him, but have to admit to liking Sandro (don't tell anyone mate!). I think that he gives us stability in midfield and allows Faurlin to play with more freedom. That doesn't make him worth his wages of course.

Trouble is with our players, they all have little golden spells. But we get thro so many managers all the times, they have to keep changing formations and game plans. This must sometimes get a bit confusing. The best setled team of late was Harry's Championship team, although we didnt look like a settled team when we started playing in the Prem I wont tell re Sandro. For me he is too injury prone too, didnt someone put his games he has played with games he could have played figures the other day? I see to recall he could of played 60 but has played just over 20 ?

Have to agree with 57, Green had a decent season and he signed a contract extension at that time. Sound business, surely (although you'd hope there was a relegation clause in his contract)? OK, he's a high earner, but he cost us £1.5m less than Smithies (ie, zilch). Many are going on about bringing McCarthy back, but he looked wobbly for us (on the few occasions he played) and clearly hasn't impressed at Palace. Maybe he'll come good, maybe he won't. As Green is no longer in the club's plans beyond this season, I'd hope he finds another team this window and that we get Bentley in.

Crouch anyone?! From Club Call Crouch still on R's radar LATEST NEWS UPDATE: 4 HOURS 9 MINUTES AGO Queens Park Rangers are still in the hunt to take Stoke striker Peter Crouch back to Loftus Road before the transfer deadline. Crouch is struggling for regular football at the Britannia Stadium and has already been linked with moves to Sydney FC and Championship outfit Leeds United this month. Potters boss Mark Hughes has spoken of his desire to keep hold of Crouch, but may back down and decide to cash in if the striker asks to move on in search of more regular game time. A return to London and QPR could appeal to Crouch, who had a spell with the R's back in 2000 before he moved on to Portsmouth. QPR yesterday spent some of the cash raised from the sale of Charlie Austin, to sign Peterborough striker Connor Washington, but there is still enough in the pot to fund a deal for Crouch. ....more from Sports Witness sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/qpr-linked-with-move-for-sampdoria-playerQPR linked with move for Sampdoria playerPosted by SPORT WITNESS on January 20, 2016 at 12:15 in Sport Witness Football Queens Park Rangers are in the race to sign Sampdoria full back Fabrizio Cacciatore, according to TMW. The 29 year old is currently at Chievo, and has been a regular in the team since he moved to the Serie A side on loan in the summer transfer window. TMW say QPR are considering their options with regards to the former Italy U18 international. QPR will be looking to strengthen their squad in this window after losing players in the summer, but they will face competition to sign Cacciatore. The defender has also been linked with Leeds United, and the West Yorkshire side have already watched the Italian this season, with future trips planned. Cacciatore has been Sampdoria since 2005 after coming through their youth system, but he’s spent much of his career out on loan with other Italian clubs. Before his loan move to Chievo in the summer he had similar spells with the likes of Varese, Siena and Verona. The player signed a three year extension to his contract with Sampdoria in 2014 but given, his situation with the Genoa club, they could look to sell him either in this window or during the summer.
