I keep hearing bits today about Charlie saying things re the Barton sending off.
Has he commented somewhere something like you can apologise so many times for getting sent off.
Might make a bit awkward when Barton returns , if he does for the last nine games...

I thought it was tweet, appears it was just what he said in an interview But Charlie Austin, who cancelled out Nikica Jelavic’s opening goal only to see Dame N’Doye head a late winner for Hull, said: ‘There’s only so many times you can say sorry. ‘It’s a silly sending-off and it’s kind of cost us the game. He’s the villain and rightly so for getting sent off. He’s got to deal with it. Good for Charlie.
Joey undid a weeks worth of good work with his stupid actions.
About time someone at the club said enough is enough to Barton's temper tantrums.

Agree Nomar, good for Charlie to step up and question his teammates foolishness. Joey just doesn't learn and while it wasn't Man City levels of stupid, it was still a very dumb move. If he got sent off for a dangerous challenge it would be one thing, but what he did has no excuse, even though he tried to make one. There was no way Furlong was getting sent off for that challenge.

At least we'll be shot of him in the summer and he can happily go back to Marseille and work on his faux French accent.
Wonder if Ramsey will strip him of the captaincy?

I always thought Hill was team captain, Barton is just usually the in game captain. I could think of a couple guys more deserving, I would say either Rio, Henry or Zamora. Dunne is an obvious one, when he returns.

Charlie's words can be taken two ways. Either that he is fed up with Barton or that Barton has said sorry so it is time for everyone to move on and talk about something else.

I think it was the more obvious interpretation personally; that Barton should stop getting himself into situations that require him to apologise. It is an interesting dynamic for the dressing room though. Barton would have a certain standing and not many of the other members of the squad could have laid it on the line like that. I am glad Charlie has been able to use his place in the squad to good effect. Sometimes it is more powerful to be judged by your peers than by your manager or the fans. Chris Ramsey has got to keep it all under control though - one of many challenges for a rookie manager.

Good luck to RMsey with this. Austin is in the right, Barton should be using his emotion in a positive for the team. Getting sent off is not a positive as such, although it will nulify his cards now wont it?

I don't see this causing a rift in the locker room, Charlie and Barton are friends from my understanding. Just some tough love and probably better for someone he gets along with to say it than someone he doesn't like.

Definitely no rift, there was a video yesterday put up on the QPR YouTube account of a friendly penalty shootout between Charlie and Joey to see who was the best penalty taker

I don't think it will cause a rift either, but I think the possibility of a rift is still a risk worth taking. If Barton can't be motivated by the fact that he is letting his team mates down, then so be it - it's a harsh reality for Austin to have to spell it out publicly but it's fully deserved at this point considering how Barton, despite some decent performances, has repeatedly let the team down in high profile ways. He's said sorry plenty of times and the cycle of outbursts that costs us points begins again - you've got to wonder what it'll take to stop him doing stuff like he did on Saturday.
