Such terrible news.
John really was a wonderful man. When my daughter was born 18 months ago John and his lovely wife made her two special QPR bibs and sent them in the post for her. They were her first gifts from my 'QPR' family and are something that we will treasure forever.
John may be gone but his memory will always live on inside of me and my daughter and will be something to celebrate every time we go to watch the R's.
RIP John Clifford - a great man and a fellow QPR supporter whose love and dedication to the R's is something I will aspire to along with his warmth towards others.
John will be missed forever in our small part of West London.

Gramps had to be doing something right to be held in such high regard and affection by all. I would like to send his family a high resolution print of the Andy Evans presentation (where I've retouched 'GRAMPS' in the crowd banners - see Mac's post with Andy Evans Tweet above). If anyone wants to message me their signature, I'll retouch all signatures onto the picture, with your QPRReport username underneath (and real name if you wish). Oh, and if anyone can let me have the family address, that would be good. PMd the address to you. Thanks again Bushman. If anyone would like to be included on Gramps' card, just post here or PM me. I can include and or all of the following: • Your QPR Report username • Your real name • Your signature • A personal message Happy to post the final card here too.

I am half expecting him to appear on here with his own obituary. Tales from beyond? Catching up with legends from our past.
That photo of a 12 year old John is fantastic. Yes, note the speaker system in the background. Not exactly a Bose is it? And the mud. The legenadary mud, known through out QPR history up until the 90s.
Some talented players played on a mud heap and still showed amazing skills. Mark Lazarus, Rodhey, Gerry and Stan.

I was just trying to put the longevity of Gramps into some perspective
Pre- WWII
20 Years before Alec Stock first arrived as QPR Manager
25 Years before Rodney Marsh came to QPR... Before Marsh was even born
Gramps was backing QPR

I haven't been on here for a while and only just heard about Gramps' passing. To say I am shocked and devastated is putting it mildly, as I wasn't even aware that John was ill. Like I said on the other thread, I never met John but felt I knew him through our contact when I was buying his book and his many posts on here. My condolences go out to his wife and family, you were lucky to have such a gentleman in your lives and I know you will miss him terribly. Rest in Peace, John. You will always be a legend with QPR fans.

So sad to read this, this board will never been the same without you gramps. Harry should be sacked purely in gramps' honour, I know this is what he would have wanted. RIP my friend.
