The former England defender has admitted his days at the Etihad Stadium are numbered and he will become a free agent at the end of this month. The 31-year-old has a concrete offer on the table from Turkish side Besiktas, but Lescott would prefer to remain in England. It's understood West Ham United and Aston Villa have been asked to be kept informed about his situation. But Hoops boss Harry Redknapp is a shock leading contender should his side get the better of Derby County in the upcoming Championship play-off final at Wembley on May 24. Redknapp tried to sign Lescott when he was in charge at Tottenham Hotspur and now wants to bring him into the fold at Loftus Road. It's felt Lescott's power and experience would prove invaluable to Rangers, who are even willing to match his present £90,000 a week wages. - See more at: www.sportinastorm.com/Premier-League/Manchester-City/Lescott-waits-on-R%27s-promotion-outcome/X1Y47Z1759809#sthash.10RyjlrT.dpuf

From the Mirror West Ham's Ravel Morrison a transfer target for Swansea after impressive QPR loan spell May 17, 2014 23:00 By Tom Hopkinson The England Under-21 international has fallen out of favour at Upton Park and the Swans are hoping to sign the pacy midfielder Swansea are hoping to land Ravel Morrison from West Ham for a cut-price £3.75million, writes Tom Hopkinson in the Sunday People. The 21-year-old’s relationship with Hammers boss Sam Allardyce turned sour after a fall-out at the end of last year and, when Morrison joined QPR on loan in February, Big Sam vowed he wouldn’t play for him again. Now Swansea are making moves to sign the talented but sometimes troubled youngster. Morrison grew up at Manchester United, where Sir Alex Ferguson raved about him being the most gifted kid he had seen. But his erratic behaviour was a real source of frustration and a skipped training session too many saw Fergie sell him to Allardyce in January 2012. The attacking midfielder was loaned to QPR in February and has enjoyed a good spell with Harry Redknapp, helping his team to next Saturday’s Championship Play-off final with Derby. www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/swansea-transfers-ravel-morrison-west-3558523#ixzz321VnvBuA Follow us: @dailymirror on Twitter | DailyMirror on Facebook

Adel coming back to Loftus Road?! From talksport.com Taarabt ready to return to QPR at end of AC Milan loan spell By talkSPORT (@talksport) | Monday, May 19, 2014 QPR midfielder Adel Taarabt could return from his loan spell at AC Milan after struggling to adapt to life at the San Siro. The supremely talented Morocco international was sent on loan to the Italian club in January - where it looked like he would end up getting a permanant switch - after Rangers manager Harry Redknapp grew tired of his rule breaking. Taarabt has since made 14 league appearances and scored four goals. However, the former Tottenham man is already finding it tough to adapt to the guidelines laid down by Milan coach Clarence Seedorf and he could return to Rangers in the summer. It's unlikely the playmaker would play under Redknapp again after the pair fell out but he could return to Loftus Road if the Hoops manager moves on or retires in the summer. From soccernews.com www.soccernews.com/inter-challenge-milan-taarabt/145979/? Inter challenge Milan for Taarabt Inter Milan will try and steal Moroccan midfielder Adel Taarabt from under AC Milan’s noses, according to L’Equipe. The Rossoneri are in talks with QPR over turning the player’s loan move into permanent deal, but with the club failing to secure European qualification, it appears they won’t be able to match his buy-out clause. L’Equipe has learned that bitter rivals Inter Milan plan to take advantage of the situation and try to sign the player on permanent basis. Nevertheless, while it was initially believed it would cost around €7 million to acquire Taarabt’s rights, the French newspaper claims the amount is closer to €11 million. Adel Taarabt, 24, has largely impressed since joining AC Milan on loan from QPR, starting 12 Serie A games and scoring 4 goals in the process. He is hoping to remain with the Rossoneri beyond the current season, but his long-term future at San Siro remains in doubt.

Here we go again?! From footballleagueworld.co.uk footballleagueworld.co.uk/julio-cesar-back-on-wengers-list/?Julio Cesar back on Wenger’s list BY BEN REARDON ⋅ MAY 21, 2014 Julio Cesar is once again a reported target for Arsenal, after Queens Park Rangers have recalled him. The keeper has had his loan spell at Canadian side Toronto cut short, and is set to return to Loftus Road. And Cesar could tie up a move across London to Arsenal, should Queens Park Rangers fail to go up in Saturday’s play-off Final against Derby County at Wembley. The Brazilian international is a target for the FA Cup winners, as a replacement for departing Polish stopper Lukasz Fabianski. The 34 year old moved to the MLS in February in order to gain some first team football before the World Cup finals, after becoming frozen out of Harry Redknapp’s plans, with Redknapp opting for Robert Green instead. He had previously been linked with a return to Serie A, having won the title and Champions League in his time at Inter Milan.

From sportwitness.ning.com sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/qpr-midfielder-set-for-manager-talksQPR midfielder set for manager talks Posted by SPORT WITNESS on May 21, 2014 at 8:04 in Sport Witness FootballView Discussions According to reports in the Spanish press, Queen Park Rangers' Stephane Mbia will have talks in the coming days with Sevilla manager Unai Emery regarding his future. The Cameroon international has been on loan with La Liga side Sevilla and in recent weeks there has been speculation about his future. Marca have reported this morning that Sevilla have an option to purchase the midfielder for €4m on a three year deal and that this will be discussed once the squad return from the Far East. With the World Cup just around the corner the club want this to be sorted before it starts as Mbia will be representing Cameroon in the competition. Sevilla are due to travel to Indonesia for the Asia LFP tour and when they return they will sit down to discuss their plans for the 2014/15 campaign. Mbia was instrumental in Sevilla reaching the Europa League final and he scored the winner in the semi final against Valencia. Throughout the season he has put in impressive performances for Sevilla which has helped his case in getting a contract with the club, but this has also brought him to the attention of other clubs. There have been rumours in the past few weeks that Liverpool and Everton were monitoring the situation with Mbia. The player has stated that he wants Champions League football which is something Sevilla can’t give him next season after losing out to Athletic Bilbao for the fourth place spot. However the club believe their success in the Europa league last season and the way he has adapted to life in Spain will be enough to persuade him to join them on a permanent basis.

From Toronto FC's Offie www.torontofc.ca/news/2014/05/julio-cesar-leaves-brazil-tfc-future-doubt? Julio Cesar leaves for Brazil, TFC future in doubt QPR requests for Julio Cesar to return in August. MAY 21, 2014 Armen Bedakian With Michael Bradley already gone at US national team camp, Toronto FC is set to lose another international player to World Cup preparations in Júlio César – although the Brazilian No. 1’s departure will likely be a permanent one. Júlio César will leave Toronto midweek to join the Brazilian national team ahead of TFC’s match against Sporting Kansas City this Friday. And all indications are that Queens Park Rangers, the team that sent him out on loan this offseason, want him back after the World Cup. When asked if a return to Toronto was an option, Júlio César was noncommittal. “I don’t know,” he said through a translator, exhaling with a defeated laugh. “It depends on the World Cup. … Queens Park Rangers wants me in August. I don’t know what will happen.” Júlio César’s loan is not scheduled to be up until December, but TFC head coach Ryan Nelsen told the media that there is a “gentlemen’s agreement” in place should QPR want him back sooner. “I’m contracted still in England for a few more years,” Júlio César said. “I’m contracted to return there in August after the World Cup. I can’t really give you a clear answer as to what my fate is after the World Cup. I’ve always been a professional person. Even if I win the World Cup, I’m going to keep to my word, return to my [parent] club and help them win championships.”
Júlio César missed Toronto FC’s last game with the flu, and Joe Bendik minded the net in a 2-0 victory over the New York Red Bulls. Even if he does return, he will be away from the club for what will likely be two months, leaving Bendik the starting job. “I’m very anxious,” Júlio César said of his feelings heading into the World Cup in his home country. “It’s getting close to the time to meet up with the team and start on this important journey. The whole country is obviously preoccupied [with protests and strikes] but we hope things get settled before the World Cup. “… Every World Cup is a big opportunity; they all have their own flavor. This one being in Brazil is even more special for me; it’s my country, my family is there and I just have God to thank for the opportunity to play in this World Cup.” If Júlio César has indeed played his last match for Toronto FC, and Queens Park Rangers exercises the return-from-loan option after the World Cup ends, Toronto FC will free up some cap moves to possibly make further moves. Whatever happens, he leaves the city with no regrets.
“I’m surprised, coming here, with how well things are run here,” he said. “Being in Canada, I feel very prepared for the World Cup. I feel like I’m a better person here after three months and experiencing what the club has to offer me in getting me ready for the World Cup.”

From sbnation 7500toholte.sbnation.com/2014/5/21/5738162/aston-villa-after-shaun-wright-phillips? Are Villa after a former England international Shaun Wright-Phillips in action for Queens Park Rangers in a July friendly against Exeter City. - Michael Steele Former Chelsea and Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips has been linked with a move to B6 when his contract at QPR expires this summer. But how likely really is it that he makes the move considering his high wages? As a summer that's set to see little spending gets underway for Paul Lambert, his Aston Villa side have been linked with former Manchester City and Chelsea and soon-to-be-former Queens Park Rangers winger Shaun Wright-Phillips. Unfortunately for Villa's plan to sign the 32-year-old former England international, West Ham United are also said to be interested and might be able to offer higher wages. Wright-Phillips—who moved to Chelsea from Manchester City for £21 million in 2005—has spent much of the last year sitting on the bench at Loftus Road, unable to break into the regular squad for Harry Redknapp's side playing in the promotion playoff on Saturday. Wright-Phillips is out of contract at the close of the season but would certainly come with a high wage tag. The article suggests West Ham are "confident" of matching Wright-Phillips' salary demands while Villa would likely be hard-pressed to match—he's believed to be on high wages that have made it tough for QPR to offload him in previous windows. With the spending constraints put on Lambert by Randy Lerner as the club waits for a buyer, it's hard to believe that Lambert could both bring in two high earners on free transfers as both Wright-Phillips and Joleon Lescott (who Villa have been increasingly linked with over the last few days) would likely command wages upwards of £50,000/week. Additionally, Wright-Phillips said in February that he wants to join younger brother Bradley in the States who plays alongside Thierry Henry for MLS side New York Red Bulls. With the combination of his wages, the fact that he made 13 appearances for QPR this campaign, and his desire to play alongside his brother in New York, I just don't see this one happening. There's a chance, but I certainly wouldn't call it likely.

More from sportsmole on Rio joining QPR www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/qpr/transfer-talk/news/odds-shorten-on-ferdinand-joining-qpr_156754.htmlOdds shorten on Rio Ferdinand joining Queens Park Rangers By Liam Apicella, Features Editor Filed: Sunday, May 25, 2014 at 15:29 UK Last Updated: Sunday, May 25, 2014 at 15:31 UK The odds on Queens Park Rangers securing the services of Rio Ferdinand this summer have shortened over the past 24 hours. Thirty-five-year-old Ferdinand is a free agent following confirmation that his contract would not be renewed at Manchester United following 12 years at Old Trafford. A move to the MLS had been mooted, but after QPR sealed a return to the Premier League yesterday afternoon thanks to a 1-0 win over Derby County in the final of the Championship playoffs, they have been strongly linked with the centre-back's signature. Most bookmakers have made a switch to Loftus Road a 5/2 shot, while a transfer to an American club is regarded as evens. Ferdinand has previous with QPR manager Harry Redknapp, who gave the former England international his senior debut at West Ham United in 1996.

They’re already looking to improve their squad and will reportedly swoop for English Manchester United and Chelsea stars Rio Ferdinand and Frank Lampard. Nephew of QPR manager Harry Redknapp, it appears Chelsea aren’t going to offer club legend Frank Lampard a new contract. Rio Ferdinand is in a similar position at Old Trafford, having spent 12 successful years at Manchester United.
