FacebookThe Gianni Paladini Appreciation Society Description: Gianni Paladini, what can I say....invested in QPR by taking a mortgage out on his own house, when we were in desperate needs of funds. Survived an "allegeded" board room incident where he was threatened at gunpoint - and thus had to have police protection and wear a bullet proof vest. Took untold grief from a minority of fans that didn't like him. Somehow managed to keep us afloat and in business. OH and brought in Bernie Ecclestone, Flavio Briatore and Lakshmi Mittal to, not only save us from administration but, make us the richest backed club in the world. Oh and he brought Cookie HOME! There was a post by "Dazzer" on WATRB earlier about some ostensible meeting he had with the parent of a player. Among various things the parent allegedly said besides re manager - What a great job this parent's player's thought Paladini was doing as de facto CEO (for which he was being paid). [To be fair: The full is on WATRB at this link. www.wearetherangersboys.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16101

Missed out on a "Gianni Flashback Moment"
BBC -13 March 2007, Quotes of the Week
"I wish all ******s were like me. If this ****** had been in charge years ago, the club wouldn't have lost their training ground and all sorts of other bad things would not have happened."

Also out there: "The Flavio Briatore appreciation society (QPR)" (although I imagine if it was started now, it wouldn't get too many members) www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=4868003026And as valid as when I posted six months ago The Paladini Conundrumยซ Thread Started on Dec 17, 2009, 4:07pm ยป -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Is he an insignificant part of QPR who shouldn't be held accountable for what goes wrong? Or is he an important part of QPR who should be held at least in part responsible for what goes wrong? If he doesn't select/sign the players? What does he do vis-a-vis the players? Is it the long contract on wages? His responsibility or not But if he does select and sign the players (or not sign those he could and should) should he be held responsible for that? Which areas is he responsible for that Ali Russell and Ian Taylor and the Manager and coach does? Travel arrangements to Bahrein and Italy? Provider of Information to (Selected) Fans? What EXACTLY does he do (and saying "Well when Briatore is away, Paladini runs things" - What exactly) Having gone through six (Permanent) managers in the past 2 1/2 years since Briatore (and having himself gotten rid of Ian Holloway (and Waddock) before Briatore arrived? Is there any responsibility/ accountability set to Paladini A paid employee of the club: It's not enough to throw out "He saved the club" or "He loves QPR" and denigrating those who question Paladini's continued employment even as on all sides, others have departed: Well obviously that can be done. But it's strange? You can question the owners, the managers and coaches and players. You can question the de facto managing director. You can question the other QPR fan sites and various board posters. But this one individual is somehow exempt qprreport.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=8882&page=1

Very cleverly done there Canada. Oddly enough, you remember the monkey commercials?
"Dad, do you know the piano's on my foot?"
"You hum it son and I'll play it".
