The club announced here 6-7 weeks ago. Then absolutely nothing. Exactly who is she? What does she do? What's she going to do for QPR? Etc..
QPR Official Site - April 3, 2009 EXCLUSIVE: QPR APPOINT GLOBAL AMBASSADOR
- Queens Park Rangers Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Mrs Yuko Yamazaki as our Global Ambassador. - The appointment, which brings a multi-million pound investment in to the Club, is for a three year term and will see Mrs. Yamazaki represent the Club as a Global Ambassador in the Far East.
- As Global Ambassador, Mrs. Yamazaki will be working to develop the Club's brand and commercial relationships within Japan and South Korea.
- QPR Holdings Ltd Chairman, Flavio Briatore, said: "I've known Mrs. Yamazaki for over 20 years, in which time she's enjoyed unrivalled success in every venture she's undertaken.
- "Queens Park Rangers Football Club is a unique opportunity and I'm convinced Mrs. Yamazaki is the right individual to position the Club within the Far East market.

So how she's doing?
WHAT is she doing?
Remember those few shiny days when we had both Sousa and our Global Ambassador, together working to build a better QPR.

I don't know who she is or what she does exactly but I do know for certain that in her role of QPR Global Ambassador she actually pays us, whether by commission which is more likely, or by an agreed flat fee on each deal, to represent us.

In what format? Young asian QPR kids drafted, QPR teams sent over here for training? if theres a chance to make big money flav wil be there.

I know where Mark's coming from, never could get my head round this at the time though.

Must represent a large consortium who see a big business opportunity. They shoulder the risk but remember getting loans from Asian countries can be easier.

"The appointment, which brings a multi-million pound investment in to the ClubBut we've had no announcement of sponsorship, no changes at Board level and I believe that shareholders need to be informed if there is large stake taken by anyone in the club, so what is it that we've exchanged for this large investment?

It would look like an investment in all his holdings and speculations for growth. This would be a question for stockholders to ask for that and some information. Falling short of that there are other approaches.

Aye ? She is not a paid member of staff as such and draws no salary. Her role of global ambassador is to represent the club in the Far East. Whether that is organising friendlies in the asian territories during the pre-season or arranging a sponsorship deal, she gets' paid by way of drawing a commission or an agreed fixed fee to actually do the deal, we get the rest. She costs us nothing and can only generate income for the club. It's all part of the 'four year plan' I guess. I know where Mark's coming from, never could get my head round this at the time though. "The appointment, which brings a multi-million pound investment in to the ClubBut we've had no announcement of sponsorship, no changes at Board level and I believe that shareholders need to be informed if there is large stake taken by anyone in the club, so what is it that we've exchanged for this large investment? She actually has not done anything yet so there is nothing to notify board members or share holders of, apart from her appointment. When she does I'm sure we will know via the website and what Steve Wicks thinks about it probably!

"The appointment, which brings a multi-million pound investment in to the Club This statement whilst legally correct is also quite misleading: It is stating that in the future we will get a multi-million pound investment in to the Club and when we do Mrs. Yamazaki will get her cut. Until then she is still in the process of 'bringing' it to the club and therefore it has not arrived and there is nothing to announce or pay her for. If she doesn't this statement will be forgotten and it will have cost us nothing. I'm sure she doesn't only represent us and probably handles Flabio's retail as well, in terms of opening up new markets for him in what was quite an aggressively expanding financial sector but nowadays I expect her scaled projections for investments have been downsized so we probably won't hear from her in the short term.

Is she your wife Marky Mark. No, I rescued my wife from just outside Bristol. Though there are times when I wish she was in the far east!

Think the statement says, millions over the next 3 years (now minus a couple of months). Show me the money!

Would have been interesting if they had given a bio or done an interview or something

I wouldn't hold your breath. When she has done something I don't expect we will see the accounts for a couple of years after, if at all, to know exactly what she did!

But the great thing is that if hypothetically, nothing much happened, and one was to quote this statement in a year or two, would be disparaged for doing so. In passing, I refer you to my Paladini statement, from three years ago today, which I posted this moning on another thread. (Don't usually bother, because why bother?!) "......As stated previously, the aim of the current Board is for the underlying business of the club to break-even. Next season will see further improvements and we expect the losses fall to below £1m - a significant improvement on the years before I became involved with the club. .....We have put our finances in order, our losses will continue to fall towards a break even situation....." qprreport.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=4237

I guess that's been the source of many of my board disputes/fights. I've actually quoted what QPR Officials or even QPR Messageboard posters actually said. And I guess that's a no no!

Ok, so she sold pitch-side advertising to a Japanese company. So either advertising saleswomen to Japan and South Korea or Global Ambassador? Which job title would you prefer? An average attendance below 15,000 or 20,000? What would you prefer? Champions league football in 4 years or championship football? I really wish I supported the QPR that they are selling!!!!
