Agreed about 'arry stuffing up in the January window, but Hughes managing a squad that everyone said would take us to mid Prem into a shambles of a team with 4 points after 12 games shows what a no hoper he is. Stoke watch out!

Oh Redknapp was a big, big disappointment.
Not so much because he failed to keep us up...That was always tough. But he didnt come anywhere close to doing so. And he did spend 20 million pounds on that effort (+ wages)

Getting back to TF's tweet.
I wonder how many targets 'arry, Phil and Tony have in mind? Their main task is to identify those the intend to keep and come up with a plan to turn them into a cohesive working team and ensure that the "targets" fit into the team. Our recent history of getting "targets" in by convincing them of Tony's vision clearly hasn't worked. Time to get back to basics, team bonding, team building and basic man management.

The true legends who have served our club over the years can be counted on the fingers of two hands. The word 'legend' is grossly misused.

And he did spend 20 million pounds on that effort (+ wages) A bit harsh on Harry, methinks. Harry actually started getting results including the lesser spotted away win or two! The problem was that only taking 4 points from 16 games pretty much killed off any chance of us realistically staying up. The margin for error was already small and it didn't take much to completely deflate what was already a fairly demotivated squad. I think even the greats like Ramsay, Ferguson, Robson, Shankly and Clough would have genuinely struggled to have kept us up from that position. I think the Norwich game sealed our fate. If Taarabt scored that penalty then things may have been different and we would have been in real touching distance of the teams above us. The Villa result did for us and conceding the late equalizer against Wigan ended things for good. But compare the way we played in that first half against Villa or how we played at St Marys against how we sleep walked against Reading or capitulated at home to Southampton when it was still early enough in the season to have turned things around and you can see that we were improving under Redknapp.

Bit confused as to why the word legend is being used on this thread in the way it has been, legend wasn't even mentioned in the tweet from TF........

Tony Fernandes @tonyfernandes 22s
Harry is a top manager. Always speculation. But he's pumped as I am. Build a new team with the right attitude. Can't wait for august 5th

Clearly Fernandes learned nothing about Tweeting.
Let's hope Fernandes' has learned more in other ways in running a club
