QPR's run of four successive league wins came to an end as Tranmere rallied from behind to secure victory at Loftus Road.
Skipper Steve Palmer fired the hosts into the lead on the hour when he slammed home the rebound after Kevin Gallen's shot was blocked by the legs of Tranmere keeper John Achterberg.
But the visitors levelled after 80 minutes after a storming run from Richard Hinds on the right side.
He squared the ball for substitute Marvin Robinson to tap in with his first touch of the game.
It was the first goal QPR had conceded in seven-and-a-half hours.
But there was worse to come when they were caught on the break and Robinson played in Simon Haworth who stroked home the winner in the dying seconds of the game.
QPR: Culkin, Forbes, Shittu, Carlisle, Murphy, Gallen, Palmer, Bircham, Cook, Pacquette, Angell. Subs: Day, Burgess, Bean, Griffiths, Thomson.
Tranmere: Achterberg, Hinds, Sharps, Connelly, Nicholson, Hume, Jones, Mellon, Roberts, Haworth, Barlow. Subs: Howarth, Price, Hay, McGuire, Marvin Robinson.
