Any one thought about Rio Ferdinand. What with Rio pissing off Fergie over the shirt saga,Big mistake and the link between Hughes and Fergie,a deal could be done.I know he's getting on now but could do a job for us for the next 18 months or so. Also,Any UTD players due to be leaving soon, sure MH could do a deal with Fergie?.

I just wonder how attractive a proposition we are to any of these star players: Can't offer them Title race..or cup run...or European football...and maybe not even premiership football

Only reason hes a free agent is because AEK went into administration and had to release a bucket load of players. He was definately part of their future but had to leave to free up cash. Dont know if he can cut the PL though. Maybe loan him out in lower leagues and see how he goes. Compared to Katidis who we were linked to in August, Katidis has 10x more potential.

From...The Sun.... MASSIVE WAGES...Not-so-young....Etc, etc Hoops in Nic hunt EXCLUSIVE By GEOFF SWEET Published: 8 hrs ago 12 QPR want Nicolas Anelka to fire them away from the relegation zone. Anelka, 33, has not settled at Shanghai Shenhua since leaving Chelsea last season and would prefer another tilt at the Premier League. Former club Liverpool are said to be the striker’s preferred destination. But Anelka, who arrived in London yesterday, is reported to earn £250,000 a week in China and the Reds are unlikely to pay anything near that. QPR owner Tony Fernandes has spent nearly £22million on 12 players in a bid to keep the Hoops in the top flight. And the Malaysian entrepreneur is less likely to baulk at Anelka’s huge wage demands. West Ham have also shown an interest in the player. Winless QPR face Southampton in a relegation crunch on Saturday and defeat would pile heat on Fernandes to axe Hoops boss Mark Hughes. www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4642922/QPR-join-hunt-for-unsettled-striker-Nicolas-Anelka.html

QPR have joined the chase for FC Cluj winger Modou Sougou and are watching Montpellier defender Mapou Yang-Mwiba. Sougou, 27, impressed for Cluj against Manchester United in the Champions League and also scored against Galatasaray. Swansea and Blackburn have also watched him while QPR scouts went to see him in action for Cluj against Astra Giurgui on Friday. He is available for £2million. They have scouted Sweden's Andreas Granqvist but will watch France international Mapou Yanga Mbiwa, 23, against Arsenal on Wednesday. The Montpellier captain has only just agreed a new contract but could be available at the right price. Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle and Everton have also shown interest. He's a corker! Bordeaux star Gouffran is on QPR's radar after latest striker injury 21 Nov 2012 22:29 With Johnson and now Zamora facing long spells on the sidelines, the Premier League's bottom club have only Djibril Cisse fit to lead their attack Ffrantastic! Bordeaux could sell free-agent-to-be Gouffran (right) cheaply Getty Bordeaux forward Yoan Gouffran is a cut-price January target for injury-hit, winless QPR. Rock-bottom Rangers' scouts watched the 26-year-old in Bordeaux's win over Marseille last weekend. The west London club are desperate to make a signing in the next window to bolster their options up front. Andy Johnson and now Bobby Zamora are both out with long-term injuries, leaving Djibril Cisse as their only fit striker. Gouffran, previously linked with Everton, Aston Villa and Fulham, has scored eight goals in 16 games and is out of contract next summer. That has left Bordeaux ready to cut their losses and sell in January rather than lose him on a free. www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/qpr-transfers-yoan-gouffran-the-bordeaux-1449429?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

I for one think it is a lovely thing your club is doing, taking on Chelsea cast off's and giving them a home in the twilight of their careers. Who cares if they have been successful winners in the past, a pay packet and a warm Horlicks and they are happy bunnies! I promise if Rangers manage to sign Nicolas Anelka you will be guaranteed goals from the Frenchman. I use the plural, goals as I'm sure it will add up to a brace by the end of a the *campaign.
The grapevine has it that another illustrious Chelsea favourite is making themselves available for a comeback. Doris from accounts, who retired back in 99, is raring to go again. Despite two new hips and sore bunions, she could still add some much needed bite to your midfield. She has to be careful going into tackles:however, as her colostomy bag has a tendency to come unattached at the most in-opportune moments. Still Rangers fans have got used to seeing a pile of shit on their pitch every other Saturday.
*Campaign usually refers to fighting for something and not being beaten like a baby seal pup's every few days from August to May. I apologize for the wrong terminology in this matter.

If today's Sunday papers are to be believed, which they are not, here's the starter pack. Beckham, yeah right. Parker on loan, out injured, not played since June, hmm, great move, yeah right. Dawson, nearly got him once, could be genune and money still available. Defoe, no reason he wouldn't follow 'arry to another club. Adebayor, would love to join QPR and 'arry apparently but would need to take a cut on his £90k pw wages. By the time the January window arrives, we should be linked to about 40 players!!!! Againe.

I think with this managerial change we can only hope that we start to sort the baggage we have been carrying and move back in the guys who are prepared to fight for the cause. The first 50 some minutes yesterday give cause for hope but as soon as Ferdinand came on some basic shape at the back started to unravel. Despite his age, Nelsen was strong but he needs a partner who has pace, vision and be a commanding presence at the heart of the defence. Full back choices are decent ( except Bosingwa) so I think we are OK there. Midfield on paper has potential but aside from Derry lacks hardness and what I'd call "wilyness". Derry can't carry that load alone and guys like Diakite are just too undisciplined. Faurlin was great yesterday and if Granero can learn what hard work relegation battles are, he might come on. As for Taarabt I am sure I am a minority of one but I'm done with his over indulgence on the ball waiting for the very sporadic flashes of brilliance that produce goals very sparingly. He is a luxury we can ill afford. Up front we should be thankful for the work rate of Jamie Mac. Hoillet is a keeper but he needs a bit of a run and having someone like Defoe who can create goals from very little would be such a boost. Cisse should be gone, SWP who'd take him? This is going to be a tough haul out of the basement especially now that Soton seem to be moving up.

Manchester United poised to tempt cash-strapped Queens Park Rangers with £12m offer for midfielder Adel Taarabt Manchester United are considering a shock £12 million bid for Queens Park Rangers midfielder Adel Taarabt in the January transfer window. www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&ved=0CC4QFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.telegraph.co.uk%2Fsport%2Ffootball%2Fteams%2Fqueens-park-rangers%2F9704147%2FManchester-United-poised-to-tempt-cash-strapped-Queens-Park-Rangers-with-12m-offer-for-midfielder-Adel-Taarabt.html&ei=0Qu0UIT8LKaZ0QXKtYG4Dg&usg=AFQjCNH28oiROKey-t_l1LWRmZPHPESUSwAny offer could tempt new QPR manager Harry Redknapp into a sale as it would raise the crucial funds he requires to bolster his squad when the window reopens. At present there is only a relatively small amount of money available to Redknapp, who could also rely heavily on the loan market as he targets a striker and a central defender, in particular, in his attempt to haul QPR off the bottom of the Premier League. Redknapp was guarded yesterday about his plans for the forthcoming window, again pointing out that investment had already been made in the squad with 12 players arriving – at a cost of £14 million in transfer fees and a sharp increase in QPR’s wage bill – during the summer. QPR do not have the £9 million they bid for Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson, who will be a target again, in August as they had to spend £3.8 million on midfielder Esteban Granero to add to the squad. That was because of uncertainty over whether Samba Diakite would return to the club from France, as he has subsequently done, after he suffered from depression. Spurs would appear less likely to allow Dawson to leave in January than they were in August, with Younes Kaboul still out injured, and would certainly resist any approach for Scott Parker, who is also yet to play this season. Jermain Defoe is not for sale either. Redknapp takes charge of his first match on Tuesday evening, away to Sunderland, with QPR still in search of their first league victory of the season and although the new manager reiterated yesterday that he had no intention of selling Taarabt, there was a warning that he had to work harder on the pitch. In 2010, when he was Spurs manager, Redknapp sold Taarabt to QPR, famously calling him a “fruitcake”, and the midfielder remains an erratic, if hugely talented player. Redknapp might, understandably, be tempted to sell if the right offer comes in and he is given the funds to buy. It is understood that QPR would push for closer to £15 million if possible. Manchester United have shown interest in the 23-year-old Moroccan in the past, and considered an offer when QPR were promoted from the Championship. They have continued to monitor his progress. Taarabt went on loan to QPR in 2009 before signing permanently the following year, for just £1 million, and becoming the key player in the club’s promotion season when he was given the captaincy by the then manager Neil Warnock. It was then that United were first linked with a move for Taarabt with Warnock claiming Sir Alex Ferguson, the United manager, had scouted the player, only for him to be sent off against Hull City. Before the takeover led by Tony Fernandes in August 2011, it was expected that Taarabt would be sold and he was strongly linked to Paris St-Germain.

where on earth are coming from qprvancouver, ie taarabt how on earth you can say he is a luxury we can ill afford is beyond me , he has been one of the most consistent performers since being returned to the side & why would you ditch someone who has the ability to completely turn a match on its head by a sheer piece of brilliance & to be honest his work rate has improved no end , so im sorry i do not agree on your comments , to me the side should be built around talented players like adel & also he is one of the best assets we have ,i myself love watching him & i hope we do not start to revert back to old days when we were always known as a selling club & sold our best players , so no i do not want adel to leave loftus rd urrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs
