The late Peter Springett was signed as a outfield player but being the younger brother of Ron was converted into a very good goalkeeper.

I was there too v Newport and Notts county...and all the rest.
Great Fight Back against Newport...and a certain Jeff Astle scored the only goal of the game to give Notts County their 1-0 win.
It was not all bad...but a slump from feb onwards saw us drop out of the promotion race slide down the league...and end up with 3245 for an end of season game against Coventry.
