We could do with another CB, right back or defensive midfielder. A free agent it obviously has to be then. Thanks to those who answered my question regarding free agents, by the way. We don't need any of those positions now IMO Ok, you´re the boss!! ;D

Free agents can move anytime during the season but we'd need to keep a spot on the squad open to sign a free agent

Barton's ban goes with him to France, so at the end of his loan he will be ban free.
The question is do we take him back, loan him out again or sell?
My money is on sell.

think Joey is lining up a permanent move. we should let him go on the condition we don't have to pay him any wages, compensation.

Latest from www.joeybarton.comSorry that my website has been so quiet this week, now that you’ve heard my big news I hope you can appreciate why. The move isn’t something that I would have predicted a few months ago, yet a year long loan with Olympique de Marseille at the Stade Vélodrome became my dream a few weeks back, and a reality last night. Thank you and good luck QPR It’s strange leaving the Premier League, albeit for a year loan, as it’s undoubtedly the best league in the whole world and my place in the game for the last 10 years – how many people can claim that. At the same time this move to l’OM feels perfect for me and where I’m at, right now. It feels strange and exciting. I’m grateful to the people the deal made this happen – let’s say that it had a few twists and turns. So thanks to my agent Willie Mckay, l’OM Sporting Director José Anigo and President Vincent Lebrune (pictured with me above). I would also like to thank the QPR owners and exec management team Tony Fernandes and Amit Bhatia for supporting the move. Last but not least I want to thank a handful of my old team mates at QPR who were supportive, my family and close friends and of course the most important decision maker and better half, Georgia. Good luck to everyone at QPR for this season, they’ve made some great signings for the club – what would you expect of Mark Hughes backed by quality owners. Not least Mbia who was somebody that I initially looked forward to playing alongside at Marseille. Let’s not forget that I’m a contracted QPR player for two more years after this loan ends – who knows about my QPR future a year from now. Falling love with the game again I’ve said this before and I appreciate it sounds cliche, my core driver to break from the Prem is to fall in love with the game again, I said it when Fleetwood was on the cards. Reducing the ban was always complete nonsense from the media, Mark Hughes and I never saw it that way since I’d have to serve the ban somewhere and sometime, it’s not going anywhere unfortunately. It’s common sense. Moving to France and playing with a European giant like Marseille helps me realise this goal on a level that I couldn’t have imagined until now. A few of my mates have questioned me about a Marseille move being right, yet I knew in my stomach that it was perfect to enable a break from the Prem but still be with an elite team, experience a new culture, learn a new language and to feel that I am moving out of my comfort zone, pushing myself again. After all, how many Englishmen play on the continent and do actually do well? Sounds like another blog post in me there answering that one. The best birthday pressie ever Tomorrow (Sunday the 2nd Sept) is my 30th birthday and I couldn’t wish for a better present, 30 is such a milestone especially as a footballer, it’s a time when you start to wonder how many playing years you have left and a total contrast to the upstart who debuted at City in what seems like only a few years ago. I’m confident that I have a good 5-6 years in me yet, I’m fortunate that I have a great, natural engine and good people around me – so it’s all about being injury free and doing the business on the field. I want my remaining years in the game to be my best, I feel in my stomach that’s gonna be, too. In case you wanted to know the ban from the English FA still stands in France, this means my first league game is sometime in November (I’m not 100% sure exactly just yet). I already feel like a kid debuting again, I literally cannot wait. I hope my countrymen and women will be cheering me on and have a new interest in Olympique de Marseille. I’ll keep working on the site with great content and looking forward to showing you a new perspective on the game from Marseille – any ideas about what you want to see and know, just tell me!

Free agents can move anytime during the season but we'd need to keep a spot on the squad open to sign a free agent Rory is right, free agents can sign anytime during the season. However, if you havn't named them in your 25 you would have to wait till January before they could play. It makes no difference if you have named less than 25, you can't add to the list thst is submitted.

This has it's own thread, but thought it worthy of being put here as well because it begs the question of who else we could farm out on loan? Another keeper? Any of the other new signings? Mackie? Who?! Green could top QPR clearout in plan to cut wage bill after summer spending spree By SAMI MOKBEL PUBLISHED: 16:30 EST, 3 September 2012 | UPDATED: 16:30 EST, 3 September 2012 Queens Park Rangers will press ahead with plans to slash their wage bill when the emergency loan window reopens. The Loftus Road club, who remain without a Premier League win this season, spent heavily during the summer transfer window on fresh talent. High-profile players such as Park Ji-sung, Esteban Granero, Junior Hoilett, Jose Bosingwa and Julio Cesar have all joined Mark Hughes' revolution - but the signings have become a significant burden on a wage bill that was already inflated due to the spending sprees of the previous two transfer windows. And owner Tony Fernandes will sanction a mini-clear out once the Football League loan window opens later this month, a task which will act as a prelude to a more extensive sale in January. Among others, the likes of Luke Young, DJ Campbell and Rob Hulse will be made available, while goalkeeper Robert Green could also head out on loan after his future at the club was thrown into uncertainty thanks to the capture of Cesar from Inter Milan. Rangers have already started the cost-cutting exercise, sending out big-earners Joey Barton and Jay Bothroyd on loan to Marseille and Sheffield Wednesday, respectively, during the closing stages of last week's transfer window. Barton, meanwhile, has been on the receiving end of a scathing attack from former Manchester City team-mate Ousamane Dabo. Read more: www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footbal....l#ixzz25Rhqdin7

Boruk - almost QPR TEAMTALK Boruc ready for fresh start Tuesday 4th September 2012 12:50 Boruc: Looking for a new club Boruc: Looking for a new club Bet with SkyBet £10 completely free bet Former Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc is looking forward to a new challenge after turning down a contract extension at Fiorentina. The 32-year-old's move to QPR foundered when Inter Milan's Julio Cesar became available but the Poland international remains optimistic about his next move having had interest from Ukrainian club FC Dnipro and Germany's Werder Bremen. "I'm fit and available and a little bit surprised to be in this situation following two good seasons in Serie A with Fiorentina," Boruc, a free agent, said. "I was offered an extension with Fiorentina but felt it was the right time for a change and have had several other offers which just didn't feel right at the time. "I almost signed with QPR before Julio Cesar became available but despite that I am looking forward to my next challenge." www.teamtalk.com/news/7555/8050318/Boruc-ready-for-fresh-start

Here it is QPR forward set for Blackpool move Ian Cooper Tuesday, September 4, 2012 5:00 PM Campbell eyes a return on loan to his former side Forgotten forward DJ Campbell could be set to re-join former club Blackpool on loan next week. Campbell is surplus to manager Mark Hughes’s plans for the season, and as expected failed to win a place in the manager’s 25-man squad. However, Campbell failed to find a permanent move away from Loftus Road before the transfer window closed on Friday. The 30-year-old is in contact with several clubs, but favours a return to the Tangerines when the loan window opens. Campbell left Ian Holloway’s side for QPR last summer, but he failed to make an impression at QPR as a series of injuries restricted him to a handful of appearances.

QPR duo to leave on loan with Campbell
Wednesday, September 5, 2012 12:20 PM
Transfer news: Queens Park Rangers duo Luke Young and Radek Cerny are expected to be loaned out until at least the January transfer window along with DJ Campbell.
The trio were all omitted from Mark Hughes’ squad for the first half of the Barclays Premier League season and yesterday London24 revealead that Campbell was set to return to former club Blackpool.
He and his two Hoops team-mates are expected to be made available to clubs outside the top flight when the emergency loan transfer window opens next week.
QPR did attempt to offload both Campbell and Young permanently or on loan before the summer transfer window closed but were unable to do so.

Derry Stays! Jacob Murtagh QPR block Leeds United's loan bid for midfielder By Jacob Murtagh Sep 5 2012 Add a comment Recommend inShare Share on emailShare on print Shaun Derry LEEDS United's plans to take Shaun Derry on loan have been scuppered after the midfielder was included in QPR's 25-man squad. The Chronicle understands former boss Neil Warnock was keen to bring the 34-year-old back to Yorkshire for a second spell at Elland Road. Derry has made just two substitute appearances for Rangers this season, and has slipped even further down the pecking order after the return to fitness of Alejandro Faurlin and the arrival of Esteban Granero from Real Madrid. However, the former Crystal Palace man made the cut in the 25-man list submitted to the Premier League last night. And R's chief Mark Hughes insists he has no plans to send the veteran out on loan. He said: “All of those in the 25-man squad figure in our plans, even with the new players coming in." From the Evening Standard Trio poised to depart QPR 05 September 2012 QPR appear likely to loan out Luke Young, DJ Campbell and Radek Cerny until at least the January transfer window. The trio were all omitted from Mark Hughes' squad for the first half of the Premier League season yesterday and are expected to be made available to clubs outside the top flight when the emergency loan transfer window opens next week. QPR did attempt to offload both Campbell and Young permanently or on loan before the summer transfer window closed but were unable to do so. Meanwhile, new signing Stephane Mbia has admitted he did not want to leave Marseille. The midfielder joined QPR on transfer deadline lane for a reported £4.5million, with Joey Barton going the other way on loan. Mbia told RMC: "I didn't want to go but the owner of the club made me understand I had to leave. "The wage bill had to be reduced and certain players had to go." One player delighted to be wearing a QPR jersey is Alejandro Faurlin, who has now enjoyed back-to-back starts since spending seven months out with a cruciate ligament injury. "I didn't expect to be back so soon," Faurlin told his club's official website, www.qpr.co.uk. "My target was to come back after the international break but football is like this. "I feel I am 70% fit at the moment. I just need to get that sharpness back and this will come by playing games." Faurlin, who started last week's Capital One Cup win over Walsall and Saturday's Barclays Premier League defeat at Manchester City, added: "It is obviously difficult to play two games in one week after being out for so long but the gaffer wanted me to play, and I of course wanted to play. "I am pleased. It is positive for me because my knee didn't react. Now I have two weeks to get my sharpness back and get my tempo back."
