From Loftus Road: The Official Response re Whether There Will be a Player of the Year Dinner
Courtesy of Julie Newman "We are currently still discussing things internally in relation to the event. As Im sure youll appreciate, at the moment the main priority for everyone at QPR is maintaining our Premier League status, but we will hopefully be able to update you in a couple of weeks, please let your readership know."

So really this proves that if you ask Julie a question you get a professional and polite answer written by an adult in reply.
Ask Ian Taylor the same question and you do not.

What Julie? That's an ism, I know. I'm a bit of a wiz on a barbecue. Not an ism in sight either.

I imagine if we beat Swansea & WBA, they would be a lot more likely go ahead. If we draw and lose...well then it depends whether they would go ahead for relegated QPR...After last couple of games, with QPR "mood" up, would seem to me to be more likely - Except for that rather significant fact they're running out of time, to book a place, plan, prepare, promote, etc.
But even without a dinner, should surely be Player of the Year Award, etc.

Clint Hill, Derry deserved to be recognised in some way for their contribution to our Football Club, a massive contribution in such a short space of time.

if we manage to stay up then the winner will come from our remaining games.

Been a couple of weeks. Guess they're going to have make some decision/announcement.
And they won't know if we're safe or not, when making that decision

If we get relegated cannot see what there is to celebrate. Seems a mockery to have a big dinner/party to award player of the year etc in a team that failed to achieve their objective.

Since it's now almost three weeks since the replied, I wrote back to Julie asking for an update. (Not yet got back a response) If there was any news I'm sure Julie would have updated you as soon as it was available. I would not be surprised though if she might be asked to wait until it's announced on the official first before sending out individual emails with the dates. I do think it's unnecessary to email asking her for updates as I'm sure we'll find out along with everyone else in due course.

True: If there is a Dinner.
I'm not so sure there will be an announcement on the Official Site if there's not a dinner. And might prefer just to respond to requests and then let people know who ask, no dinner.
And as I and others have found in the past, if don't ask, very often nothing is said.

hill for me by a mile. but then again, id give it to every single one of them to a man when they win the remaining four games and keep us up. so im not going to vote for one, i say give it to the all as its too hard to choose after what they have done for us.

Doesn't matter where you finish in the league, should still have a player of the year and the evening, even if some want it to be a wake.

Doesn't matter where you finish in the league, should still have a player of the year and the evening, even if some want it to be a wake. This. Are our expectations so much that relegation leaves such a bitter taste that we cancel the things we always do? Ridiculous if we don't have one and relegation is the reason why.
