Huddersfield's Stan Ternent. Once again "by mutual consent manager"
Express -Huddersfield have parted company with manager Stan Ternent.
The 62-year-old ends a six-month spell at the Galpharm Stadium with the Terriers languishing in 16th place in League One after winning just four of their 15 league matches this term.
Assistant boss Ronnie Jepson and first-team coach Mick Docherty have also left the club, along with vice-chairman Andrew Watson, who was instrumental in taking the former Burnley, Bury and Oldham boss to the club.
A club statement said: "Huddersfield Town have announced that by mutual consent manager Stan Ternent is leaving the club with immediate effect."
It added: "Huddersfield Town has some great supporters and tremendous potential as well as great history and the search is now on to find someone who can harness these elements and take the club forward."
Ternent, who has a good record of gaining promotion in the lower divisions, was installed as manager in May with the objective of at least reaching the play-offs at the end of the club's centenary season.
He signed 11 new players during the summer after replacing former boss Andy Ritchie, but a new-look Terriers side has failed to gel and there has been growing unrest among fans.
Huddersfield's chairman-elect Dean Hoyle became the club's biggest shareholder in April and will take over from current chairman Ken Day at the end of this season.
The 40-year-old multi-millionaire, a lifelong Terriers supporter, announced a cut-price centenary season-ticket offer and over 16,000 fans responded.
But despite hefty player investment Ternent and assistant Jepson have failed to build any momentum and, by acting now, Hoyle and the Huddersfield board will be hoping their successors can help get the club's centenary campaign back on track.
