From The Mail If so, who should be his Assistant? www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1170439/Loftus-ambitions-Ex-Chelsea-boss-Scolari-frame-QPR-job.htmlLoftus ambitions: Ex-Chelsea boss Scolari in the frame for QPR job By Sportsmail Reporter Last updated at 10:54 AM on 16th April 2009 Comments (0) Add to My Stories Luiz Felipe Scolari has emerged as a shock contender to take the hot seat at Queens Park Rangers. Hands up if you want a job: Former Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari The Brazilian has been out of work since being sacked by Chelsea in February and both he and his wife Olga are said to be keen to stay in London. Peterbrough boss Darren Ferguson is QPR's No 1 choice to succeed Paulo Sousa - Scolari's former assistant with Portugal - who was sacked last week. But Rangers are aware that it could be difficult to persuade an English manager to work at Loftus Road under colourful chairman and part-owner Flavio Briatore, who is also the Renault Formula One team boss. Joining a Championship club, albeit an ambitious one, would be a step down for a coach who has won the World Cup with Brazil, was idolised with Portugal, and claimed countless domestic titles in his homeland. But the 60-year-old says he has plenty of offers and will study them before returning to work in the summer 'My agent has received a number of offers, some of them from clubs at a very high level and some longer-term projects,' he said. 'I will study everything very calmly and make my decision at the end of May or the beginning of June. 'But I have decided to keep on working in Europe - I've already forgotten about what happened with Chelsea, even though it was a hugely important experience in my life.' Scolari said recently he would like to finish his career with his Porto Alegre hometown club Gremio, but fancies another shot at making it in Europe before going back to Brazil. Gremio sacked their boss Celso Roth earlier this month, but they are looking at other targets after Scolari made his position clear.

I really do get the feeling that with us, anything could happen! Don't be surprised if Flabio pulls this off. By his demenour on Saturday I'm sure he really wants to prove us wrong over the Sousa decision. That can only bode well for the 'long term project', sorry I mean us.

If so, who should be his Assistant? I say go the whole hog and get Figo for that role, that is if Zidane still isn't interested.

Would he be allowed to bring in his own number two? "Thank you for giving me the job Mr Briatore. I would like to introduce my new assistant Mr Paulo Sousa."

Hey SPC good to see you online here....I've been cutting & pasting some of your marvellously cerebral posts over here...you must come visit more often. As for Scolari there is a great clip of him punching a Serbian player somewhere, so I can just imagine Mr B getting a swift righthander at training....now would that be a sacking or a termination?

Not sure how the Telegraph turns him into "Frontrunner" Former Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari emerges as QPR frontrunner Luiz Felipe Scolari is one of the leading candidates to land the vacant seat at Queens Park Rangers, according to reports. By Richard Bright Last Updated: 9:18PM BST 16 Apr 2009 Loftus-bound? Luiz Felipe Scolari is in the frame for the QPR manager's job Photo: GETTY IMAGES The Brazilian was sacked by Chelsea in February but it is understood that Scolari and his wife are keen to remain in London - despite his short-lived stay at Stamford Bridge. Darren Ferguson, the Peterbrough United manager, is the current favourite to take over from Paulo Sousa, who was given his marching orders last week. t is likely that I will be working with a team in July after considering things in late May or early June," Scolari, 60, said. "I have received some proposals, some offers, and some are from teams that are of an excellent level, other teams seeking different projects, different countries. So it is better I look very closely." Earlier this week, QPR chairman and co-owner Flavio Briatore said that he was satisfied with the club's development despite the loss of five managers in the past 18 months. "We are progressing very well," he said. "On the pitch, we're already up to the 60 point mark this season, which hasn't been achieved by QPR in many years at this level. www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/championship/queensparkrangers/5164969/Former-Chelsea-manager-Luiz-Felipe-Scolari-emerges-as-QPR-frontrunner.html

Take story from paper, change contender to front runner then regurgitate the same waffle.
Easy innit. ;D

Scolari " Frontrunner " for QPR. Only a year ago you would all have believed it. I wonder what could have happened since then to make it a joke.?
By the way what were his wages at Chelsea ? This lot won't even pay for a youth team coach.

Just hypothetically: Suppose it was true: Would Scolari be a good fit to take over QPR (especially QPR as it currently designates powers to Briatore, Paladini and the coach)? Would a national team manager be the best man to get us out of this Division?

agree completely with flave sousas decesion to drop six players and change stewert for hall was a terrible peace of management

i hope he will love me though ive always been his greatest fan
and ive been bombarding qpr with telephone calls asking for them to buy simon cox

Is it April Fool's Day?
As has been said many times before on this message board and others, why would a manager who is paid millions a year and has managed teams at the top end of a country's main league want to come to manage a team in the Championship?
Scolari,Erickson etc etc will go to mid level teams in a european top league at worst.

Step one is to skew the poll. Throw in a stupid option that the way it's phrased, doesn't really offer an alternative.
I always thought it would be an interesting exercise to actually keep serious track of "predictions" by selected ITK posters. And then to go back and do an assessment.
Unfortunately, for better or worse even I don't have time for that!
