The Greatest Football Legends Show on Earth
Iconic footballers from this country and abroad are back in training, getting their boots back on, and ready to do battle in a four team cup tournament at Loftus Road on Sunday May 20.
Queens Park Rangers Football Club and 20-20 Football extend a warm welcome to the media and photographers for the launch of THE ELITE LEGENDS CUP. 20-20 Football’s Technical Director Glenn Hoddle, and Players Director Bobby Campbell will be at the launch on Tuesday March 6, from 2pm
The Elite Legends Cup, featuring Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and hosts QPR, is sure to be a sell out, as interest heightens in the 11-a-side 20-minute each way Cup format.
Arguably, the greatest ever collection of legends will assemble for the competitive 11-a-side legends tournament, under the new and innovative 20-20 Football rules devised by the former England, Chelsea and Spurs manager. As a curtain raiser there will be a three team Forces tournament mirroring the 20-20 Football format, in aid of Help For Heroes, “The Fallen Heroes Cup”
The 20-20 Football format has already gone down well with ex-players, and is ideal for TV coverage and sponsorship as Hoddle says: “When I was approached to get involved, this just got me. I have always felt that playing 90 minutes was a problem to any player who has given up the game professionally.
