Arguably, the greatest ever collection of legends will assemble for the competitive 11-a-side legends tournament, under the new and innovative 20-20 Football rules devised by the former England, Chelsea and Spurs manager. As a curtain raiser there will be a three team Forces tournament mirroring the 20-20 Football format, in aid of Help For Heroes, “The Fallen Heroes Cup”

The 20-20 Football format has already gone down well with ex-players, and is ideal for TV coverage and sponsorship as Hoddle says: “When I was approached to get involved, this just got me. I have always felt that playing 90 minutes was a problem to any player who has given up the game professionally.

GREATEST LEGENDS SHOW ON EARTH

A host of QPR players from yesteryear will be dusting off their boots to take on former stars from Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea this summer.

Les Ferdinand, Ray Wilkins, Rodney Marsh, Paul Furlong, Marc Bircham and many more are getting ready to do battle in a four team Legends Cup tournament at Loftus Road on Sunday 20th May.

QPR and 20-20 Football extended a warm welcome to the media for the launch of the Elite Legends Cup and the Fallen Heroes Trophy on behalf of Help for Heroes at a media conference in W12 recently.

The launch was attended by 20-20 Football's Technical Director Glenn Hoddle, 20-20 Football chairman Frank Pawley, QPR legend Steve Wicks, former Arsenal and England striker Tony woodcock, and Chelsea's Ken Monkou.

The Elite Legends Cup is sure to be a sell-out, as interest heightens in the 11-a-side 20-minute each way Cup format.

The 20-20 Football format has already gone down well with ex-players, as Hoddle says:"When I was approached to get involved, this just got me.

"I have always felt that playing 90 minutes was a problem to any player who has given up the game professionally.

"It will be great to see these legends play again in competitive tournament and it captured the imagination of the public when we unveiled it last year at Fulham in the highly enjoyable London Legends Cup."

The Elite Legends Cup curtain raiser is the Fallen Heroes Trophy, with three Army teams in aid of Help For Heroes.

Ticket details will be announced later this month.

Legendary players from four Premier League sides have agreed to raise cash for Help For Heroes and The British Heart Foundation.

Former stars from Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and QPR with meet at Rangers’ Loftus Road on May 20 for a Legends football tournament.

There will also be teams from the Army, the Navy and the Air Force playing in a mini tournament in the morning.

A sell-out 20,000 crowd is expected for the event which should be broadcast by MUTV, Chelsea TV, QPR TV, ESPN and ITV.

Tournament Director is former England boss Glenn Hoddle and among the players taking part are Gianfranco Zola, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Denis Wise, Vinnie Jones, Paul Ince, Dwight Yorke, Andy Cole, Paul Merson, Claude Makelele and Ray Parlour.

20-20 Football regret to announce the cancellation of the Fallen Heroes Trophy and Elite Legends Cup event.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the event - scheduled for Sunday 20th May at Loftus Road - has been called off.

20-20 Football hope to be in a position to announce another date in the near future. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Supporters who have already purchased tickets for this event will now be entitled to a full refund.
