Probably putting my neck in the noose so to speak but some of the post's about him are really quite harsh!!!
Okay he's a twitter mouth & we all know he's a hot head, we all know his reputation!!!....But his last sending off actually was by that cheating that inbreed from Ugly Town IE Norwich!!!
The only point's I would like to say are -
1) He is a class midfielder 2) He is our captain 3) Hughes is now in charge of him & I expect him to be better & to do his talking on the pitch & less on Twitter!!
Oh god I'm going to get BLASTED!!!.......!!!

i agree on all 3 of your points elmer.
but he has to shut the f*ck up and do the business on the pitch, when he does i'm sure we will all congratulate him

Not blasted by me, I was sick of him when he was tweeting but it seems he's given it up so I'm fine with him now. He's kept his head down and mostly out of the media for a week

Ive started off from a clean sheet with Barton as of the minute Hughes took over , same as SWP . Both underperformed , now we will see if Hughes can get anything better from them . He hasnt been Class at QPR if he was a class midfielder elsewhere . Cant see him tweeting as much now!

Yep the Tweeting was getting on my nerves as well..........A bit like the "Ollie-ism" We got towards the end of his time at QPR!! I always thought he put more effort into them then he did his manager duties..........So theres a lesson here for Barton & I think Hughes will expect this as well...........I think he is a very talented player............& I want to see that talent shine with the RRR'SSSS

Agree with points 2 and 3 but he has been far from class for us, faurlin makes barton look very average indeed. £80k a week I'd expect much, much more!

Yep time for Joey's feet to do the talking not his fingers on his keyboard/iphone or how ever he does the twittering thingy, but i agree some of the things said about him have been below the belt, he does wear our colours after all so getting off his back might be a start to seeing a better captain and player.

Average Joey has one hell of an agent to get him the money he's on !
In my opinion Joey got himself sent off as he's too embarrassed to play at Newcastle. As for him being here longterm...thats a joke, get rid of asap....
Chuck in his results as captain and it prove he's a Loser.

You really do have it in for Barton don't you? He got himelf sent off againt Norwich so that he didn't want to play againt Newcastle. Huh and WTF? Hell which video did you watch? The one that I saw was playacting and gamesmanship of the highest order by both the Norwich player and the rest of the team.

I can't stand the thug. I didn't want him to be signed, nothing has changed my mind.

Look I understand why many fans (especially our own) dislike the guy but I guess her did serve his sentence and does deserve a chance.
I think he has played well for us in many games but has also performed abysmally as well (Utd at home a good example), so I'm still 50/50 on the guy - although I think he could do well for us if given the chance and (more importantly) if he applies his mind.
I also think he should stick twitter where it fits nicely as well but like or hate him let's debate the things on merit. Do not come with BS comments such as above which adds no merit to any debate.
He was sent off againt Norwich because of cheating as simple as that. Yes, he let himself and the rest of the team down by being suckered into that but the fact remains - he was cheated by palyacting of the highest order and a clueless set of officials who let judgement get in the way of facts.
The fact that Lambert and co in Norwich played along with it, and the gutless FA did absolutely nothing to overturn an injustice says all that you have to say about some people and organisations who think the end justifies the means.
So yes Barton needs to take a hard long look at himself but I have seen enough of him to convince me that he should stay at QPR for at least the rest of the season.

Saphilip, if your bs comment is in reference to my posting, please let me explain.
My problem with Barton is nothing to do with his ability or commitment as a footballer, he is clearly a talented player. It is Barton the man I do not want associated with my club. Any man who feels it is acceptable behaviour to stub out his cigar on a team mate’s eye or to beat a man to a pulp on a night out will never be welcome at QPR in my eyes.
This is a excerpt of my posting on Not606 last August, which Jon clearly remembers. Needless to say this started a lively discussion!
Am I the only one not happy with the signing of Barton? I still don’t want that thug at my club. I don’t care that he is better than what we’ve got, he represents ALL that is wrong with society at the moment. He is celebrated for being a thoroughly unpleasant person and spends his time informing the rest of the world about the mindless, trivial minutia of his life. Where have our standards gone?
Do we really want the young, impressionable QPR supporters idolising this man? And to think that I had vowed to stay off this subject ....

I didn't want Barton at the club. I too didn't like his pre-QPR activities...And I don't like his tweeting...and I didn't appreciate his Taarabt cutting down.
So if he left I wouldn't mind...if we replaced him with someone better. (Great shame couldn't/didnt get Parker)
But for now, he has a job to do...I think he's probably the best person we have the club to be Captain, to play in midfield...And I think he can play better than he has done so far. So ambivalent views. Don't like him. But don't underestimate him.

I agree with roller and felt the same and making him captain was simply salt in the wounds.
Sorry to say that for a while we probably need him though. At least he's not babbling away on twatter which is something I guess but yes, thoroughly dislikable person.

Not my favourite player, had scored a few spectacular goals for Nuke Arsehole but not us. Obviously a talent that is being wasted by the possessor. Off the field antics past and present are doing my head in. The twittering, the comments about other high profile type people. Joey, just shut the F*** up. As captain of QPR I expect him to display a high quality of professionalism - on and off the field. Barton needs to remember he is Captain of our club, he is lucky to be in that position. Not we are lucky to have him.
I hope the club will now get players whom want to play for us, the club and not us the Football mercenary team. SWP & barton to me are mercenaries.

I thought the BS bit was aimed at JB "getting himself sent off" so he didnt have to play Newcastle. That is CLEARLY BS. Liked the post from 606-really well said. Would like to give Joey a chance though as I dont think anyone is irredeemable (except perhaps NW in Hitmans eyes).
