Brothers Elliot and Kai Innocent bag £2,000 for top award

BROTHERS Elliot and Kai Innocent have been handed a timely boost after landing a top grant to help cover the costs of training and competing.
Elliott, 17, a nationally ranked trampolinist and Kai, 11, a trainee with QPR have both won the Joanna Brown Award for their sporting excellence.
The duo, who live in Angel, bagged £2,000 from SportIslington, a voluntary organisation funded by Islington Council, and the Joanna Brown Trust, a registered charity set up in memory of a sports enthusiast from Highbury who died three years ago.
“This grant will really help me in 2012,” Elliott said. “I will be able to enter more competitions and push for the British Team.” Meanwhile Kai added: “This will help my mum and dad pay for my travelling costs.”
