I remember when you played football, you were an excellent defender.
How about teaching our inept bunch of defenders the art of defending like proper footballers.
At the moment they look like the Keystone Cops.

Most clubs have a defensive coach and if we have one then it is his job.

He doesnt have to be our "defensive coach", but as he was a top defender you would think he could pass on a few tips on how not to be inept.

gabbidon would have been in the championship this year,.... ferdinand was not wanted by a team who, had they not changed their manager, would be down there with us ...Hall , sorry mate but you aint premiership quality..Connelly..100% for effort...about 50% good enough wherever he plays....so thats the central defense sorted.............
..traore was not in Arsenals long term plans ( although i think he has been the one plus this season) clint hill always a solid performer but yet again playing at too higher level......luke young.....surely seen his best days
centrally in defense we are shocking ....left and right back we possibly have just about enough to survive providing they all stay fit and perform to their very best

This defence is not good enough for the premiership. Perhaps if they hadnt have sold Gorkss
they might, I say might, be better off. An International defender for 9straight years who in my opinion worked his arse off most of time. the silliness of getting Dan back and then in limbo
is arguably HUH. Anyway, there has to be some improvement for us to stay up.

Even with crap defenders there must be a way of making them play as an effective unit, i.e close down players quickly, dont back off, make a tackle.
What are players made to do in training, apart from running around cones?
Everyone of our defenders plays as an individual instead of a unit.
Does Neil or Keith not see this? Come on its basics.

The space in our box when defending, i use the term looseley, is shocking, i know the oppo are better players, but please can we just get the basics right, marking and picking up players being one major flaw of ours, also the times we have given the ball away which results in a goal is also alarming, NW must sign a LB and CB, push traroe up to wide left where we are also lacking.

I would happily hold a training session for the players, just give me a call.
I would teach them how to defend one on ones, defend set pieces, practice corners,free-kicks, throw-ins. Also shooting practice, and how to frigging make a tackle.
Any player not able to do these basics will be sent home to tend their garden.

i think warnock says to jamie mackie on the training ground , " when you get on the ball son i want you to run up as far up the field as possible " and to our centre backs, "when the other team have the ball i want you to run as far down the field as possible with your backs to goal"
the 2 centre backs have to replaced my mate who is a west ham fan said that gabidon was the real reason why west ham went down the year before , so you have to ask yourself why on earth with all the players available in the summer why we picked him. did warnock ever watch match of the day last year. to see any of his big mistakes
