GAFFER 'LOOKING FORWARD' TO SWANS TEST
Posted on: Mon 26 Dec 2011
Neil Warnock has revealed the R's dressing room was a horrible place to be following our last-gasp defeat to Sunderland in midweek - but insists the R's have moved on and are now 'looking forward' to Tuesday's fixture at Swansea City.
Rangers succumbed to a 3-2 defeat against the Mackems, despite coming back from 2-0 down to draw level.
Warnock, however, is firmly focused on the trip to The Liberty Stadium, commenting: "We always play well against Swansea, so we're looking forward to it.
"Swansea have adapted well to the Premier League, as have Norwich and ourselves.
"Everyone is saying what a fantastic start Swansea have made in the Premier League and rightly so. But if we go there and win we'll leap above them in the table."
Warnock added: "We go there in a very positive mood.
"We could easily have thrown the towel in at 2-0 down against Sunderland, but the boys responded magnificently.
"The goals we conceded the other night were as bad as I've seen.
"Swansea, on the other hand, have kept eight clean sheets which is magnificent.
"We need to improve defensively and it's something we're working on.
"I always enjoy playing against Swansea. You have to be prepared and we will be."
Rangers currently lie two points and two positions above the relegation zone in the Barclays Premier League and Warnock once again reiterated the R's target for the second half of the season.
"The only objective for us this season is staying up," he said.
"We need to get points on board.
"I'm confident we can get the results we need over the next 20 games or so.
"I think we're quite capable of improving in the second half of the season."
