I'm feeling slightly more optimistic than pessimistic.
Rangers start very strongly & march in to a commanding 2-0 lead before half time, then the obligatory "jitters" make a second half appearance, Sunderland pull one back but we just about hang on for the 2-1, & everyone has a Happy Christmas!

would be great, would be a great game as well. cant see it though. we need a goal from one of our other players tonight i think. barton, swp or mackie need to help us tonight cos i reckon helgusons all goal'ed out for a couple of games, and bothroyd wouldnt score if he was the only man on the pitch.

Unless we score a couple early, I'm far less optimistic...The last thing we need is a Martin O'Neil/New Manager Bounce

I really don't know what to think - i'd like to think we would sneak it one nil, but the way both of our teams are, I can't see many goals, that's for sure.

Can't go tonight, which is annoying given it won't be freezing cold. O'Neil has that strange habit of bigging up the oppostition as well, have you noticed? Certainly need to step up a gear from Sunday!!! YOU Rs!!!!!!!

I think we will beat Sunderland tonight and then we will all be happy and start agreeing with each other again.. World peace man...................... Take a look at Blackburn for unhappy club/fans/league position/local press and MP. They have owners that think the clubs a chicken farm and a manager that lives on a different planet. Wonder what their message board says this morning.

It's a big night...But every game is important. Certainly don't hold to the "Most important game of the season" posters. Apart from everything else, just puts more pressure on the players, make them more nervous. They're already going to be up for it. If the worst comes to the worst, we'll just move on to the next game - and win that. Or the one after that...

Apart from everything else, just puts more pressure on the players, make them more nervous. They're already going to be up for it. If the worst comes to the worst, we'll just move on to the next game - and win that. Or the one after that... I agree. Look at our last section of games. Both Manchester teams, Chelsea, Spurs, Norwich, Liverpool, Stoke, West Brom. Out of those, I think we could only, hand on heart pre-season, have *expected* to take points off Norwich and maybe West Brom at home. Instead we're coming out with 7 points. Then compare that to our next couple of games - that's the real test. All this doom about *needing* to win tonight is batshit. Obviously its important to start getting more points on the board ASAP but we have no right to be expecting such things right now. My only concern is about commitment and form - I felt quite a few of our players didn't look up for it on Sunday (compare that to how we tore into Man City) and I hope Faurlin recaptures his form. But tonight...two low scoring teams, could be scrappy. Really hope we go for them tonight, high energy, good atmosphere. Cos frankly our atmosphere on Sunday was an embarassment.

IF Bothroyd, stays in the middle and actually runs into the box, instead of going wide all the time. We should win IF our midfielders try and play balls through the middle(like Adel does) every now and again instead of predictably playing the ball out wide even when a through ball is the better option. We should win IF Clint Hill starts Left back and Traore plays and stays Left Wing and SWP plays and stays Right wing. We should win. If when crossing from the right wing Heider and Jay are in the box, with the Left winger edging towards the fast post and a midfielder on the edge of the middle of the box and visa versa the Left wing. We should win.

For Blackburn I suppose the only bright side is that its 27 pages of complete agreement.
