Thanks. I wasn't at the game. But I remember the result. Just weeks before Martyn Busby broke his leg, leading the Thomas to QPR move. Thomas having being described by Don Revie I think as the best young player in Europe!

I wasn't sure of the timing of the Busby broken leg - I know it was against Fulham but did it prompt the move for Thomas? Devastated I never saw Thomas play.

BTW - Thomas - socks round his ankles - racing down that left-wing in front of me in the Ellerslie Road stand (at the time my stand of choice!)
Totally brilliant - what a winger.
I think we got the taste for a player of his sort and talent - from him!

Yes. As I recall we after another winger, Les Barrett from FUlham, who was definitely classy. But not in the same category as Thomas. Busby broke his leg on a Tuesday, and by Thursday, we had signed Thomas.
It hasn't happened for a while: But when we bought Thomas - even more than when we bought Bowles a few weeks earlier - this was a case of QPR "stealing" one of the best young players in Europe. We were buying a known brilliant player. I"d have to think for a while for an analogy.
Anyway nice memory.
