We should hijack Everton's move for Jelavic or go for Hooper before bidding more for Zamora. Would prefer younger strikers.

Ridiculous =========== Bobby Zamora's move from Fulham to QPR hits hitch over salary demand
Fulham's Bobby Zamora is hoping to be reunited with his former manager Mark Hughes, at QPR, on transfer deadline day. Photograph: Dominic Lipinski/PA
Bobby Zamora is asking for £90,000 a week to join Queens Park Rangers from Fulham with the striker currently earning around £45,000, according to a highly placed source at Craven Cottage.
Fulham's price for Zamora is a basic of £7m rising to £9m when add-ons including his appearances, performances, and whether he can help Queens Park Rangers avoid relegation are factored in.
However, QPR are not prepared to pay Zamora much more than what he is currently earning at Fulham with their valuation also markedly less than that of their west London neighbours.
The striker who has had his differences with Martin Jol, the Fulham manager, this season and would welcome a move to enhance his chances of selection for this summer's European Championship.
Zamora played under QPR's manager Mark Hughes last season, scoring seven goals in 16 games in all competitions for Fulham. The 31-year-old penned a new four-year deal at Craven Cottage during Hughes's reign, tying him to the west London club until 2014.
However, Hughes is hoping he can persuade the striker to move away once he has pushed through a deal for Lazio's Djibril Cissé.
The France international looks set to join for a fee understood to be £4m and QPR hope the deal can be completed in time for him to be registered to feature at Aston Villa on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the QPR defender Matthew Connolly has joined the Championship club Reading on loan until the end of the season.
The 24-year-old moved to Loftus Road from Arsenal in January 2008 and has made 125 appearances for the club.

I'd like Zamora...But he just aint that good...Not at 90K...And while you can bargain, I doubt he'd take "only 40K" aweek or so

Puncheon was the one signing I didn't want last transfer window. Zamora, seems to be this one transfer window's unwanted signing. Please don't sign him for that sort of money.

What I like about Zamora is his ability to hold the ball up and link up play. He might not be massively prolific but he does score goals. Him alongside Cisse would be a very good partnership. My worry is that his first miss will get booed and he'll be subject to the boo boys thereafter.

Seems to have gone real quiet out there. No word on the Cisse deal. Zamora deal no movement and nobody else being talked about.
Less than nine hours to go and I want some action!!

QPR to sign Bobby Zamora from Fulham
Moving on: Bobby Zamora is poised to join yet another London club Photo: GETTY IMAGES By Jason Burt Last Updated: 1:29PM GMT 31/01/2012 Fulham have now accepted an offer from Queens Park Rangers for Bobby Zamora, with the England striker currently in talks over his personal terms.
Zamora played under Mark Hughes at Fulham last season and wants regular football ahead of Euro 2012 but must weigh up the risk of joining a club currently just two points above the relegation zone.
There is expected to be a release clause in any contract with QPR relating to relegation.
Hughes is also hoping to bring former Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse to Loftus Road, but have released former fan favourite Martin Rowland.
QPR have agreed a £4m deal to sign Cisse from Lazio.

Anyone else getting nervous about these numbers getting bandied about? Not me, it's not my money!! Seriously though most of the deals are season long loans with options or deals with a get out clause should we be relegated.
