Jackett not ruling out striker loan move

KENNY Jackett admits Millwall may have to bring in another loan striker if his current walking wounded strikers don’t recover soon.
The Lions haven’t found scoring a problem in the last month after a goal spree ended a barren start to the campaign in front of goal.
Darius Henderson and Jay Simpson have formed a lethal partnership by bagging 10 goals between them since the 1-1 draw with Brighton on October 18.
But with Patrick Agyemang having returned to QPR earlier this week following the end of his temporary stay and the Lions desperately short of cover up front, Jackett is not ruling out another loan move before the market closes in a fortnight.
He said: “It depends what happens with injuries over the next couple of weeks whether we need anybody.
“Josh McQuoid has a thigh strain, which is a frustration because illness and injury have beset him really.
“John Marquis hasn’t quite got back to full fitness yet and Shaun Batt felt his hamstring in the reserves, so there are a few sort of niggly injuries there which I have to see whether they clear up or not.
“How long those three forwards are going to be unavailable for is what I have to assess and then see whether I need to bring another forward in before November 24.”
On Agyemang’s departure, Jackett added: “Patrick Agyemang’s loan is over and he has gone back to QPR.
“He played in the first two games he was here but then after that both Hendserson Jay Simpson started scoring.
“Obviously it is frustrating for Patrick but what he did give us was some competition and boost the whole situation by having forwards around, which is something we’ve got caught on when we didn’t have enough of them.”
The Lions chief also ruled out a deal for defender Stuart Parnaby following his trial at the club.
“We had a look at Sturat Parnaby for a couple of days but we are not going to follow up on it at the moment,” Jackett said.
