Why is it NW cant see we need to play 4 4 2 sometimes Spurs are walking all over us . Its pathetic to watch us scurrying about getting caught out. Sell tarbs and get at least one prolific striker out of the sale. If not we wont stay up , simple .

We can't argue with the fact mackie and bothroyd made a big difference so warnock must now make a big call for the city game

i have been saying this for weeks. he is a great motivator but when it comes to tactics warnock is inept.
if we played 442 against fulham and blackburn we could be 18 points up by now.

lol just read a tony fernandez tweet..... "i think warnock shows to much respect for teams by only playing one up front." that says it all, even the chairman is not happy with warnocks tactics.

He actually retweeted that he didn't tweet it himself and although I agree 442 is the formation for us he is the chairman, not the manager leave those decisions to NW, who made the correct subs and formation change at 1/2 time

it took him 9 games to change the friggen formation. defeats against bolton 4-0, wigan, 2-0, fulham 6-0 and woeful tactics against bottom of the table blackburn and 20 mins onwards against a 9man chelsea is not good form or good tactics as far as im concerned. man city and stoke next and i cant see a point coming from those two games, then in december we have to face arsenal, liverpool and man utd. come january, we will be in relegation zone so who would want to join us in the transfer window then? no one good thats for sure.
lets just hope warnock has not burnt all his bridges and has watched that second half display today and has seen that 4-4-2 will give us a fighting chance.

9 games till January & very winnable games in Norwich, Sunderland, West Brom, & Swansea to name a few. Getting to at least 20 points isn't by far out of the realms of possibility. Not too late to change tactics & go 442 consistently. What was the bottom 3 sitting on at January last season?

Not too late to change tactics & go 442 consistently. What was the bottom 3 sitting on at January last season? 19 games falls at the End of December this year for the Half way stage so if we go by 19 games that was on 2nd Jan last year . Table looked like this WIGAN 17TH PLAYED 19 GAMES 20 POINTS FULHAM 18TH PLAYED 20 GAMES 19 POINTS BIRMINGHAM 19TH PLAYED 19 GAMES 19 POINTS WOLVES 20TH HAD PLAYED 20 GAMES 18 POINTS Wolves went on to get another 22 points from 18 games and beat relegation by one point.just escaped Birmingham got a further 20 points from 19 games .Relegated Wigan got a further 22 points from there next 19 games. just escaped. Providing we can win 3 games or win 2 and draw 3 of our next , get to say 21 points on the 1st Jan , we would be a better position than last years teams with a game in hand. Only Birmingham didnt manage to turn things around they pretty much averaged a point a game through the whole season and didnt improve on it . So if we lost to Man C and Stoke we would be at a point a game so we have a bit in the tank so to speak.

Plenty wrong with the formation it does not work against quality 4 4 2 teams We'll struggle against quality teams full stop. An extra man in midfield and a man to shield the back 4 is more effective defending than 4-4-2. Poor ball retention and lack of quality players are holding us back not formation.

Well you could argue about the formation all day long and none of us are experts , but after getting totally battered and being inept , the change worked today and everybody could see that . I thought Bothroyd did well , the minute he came on he caused Spurs problems and Mackie even though he hasnt maybe the quality , you know what you are going to get .
This is my biggest worry , Barton was one of the player of the year for Newcastle last year , the fans loved him how come he is being so ineffective lately , ok spurs midfield Parker , Modric are all quality but their the exact players he was up against last year , something must be wrong .
Great to watch SWP today though , quality signing .

There's no such thing as a 4 4 2 team. Nobody plays that way any more. We didn't in the second half, Bothroyd kept dropping deep. It's a fascination not a formation.

Wasn't it Spuds in 1960 that introduced the short quick passing triangle game? Perhaps worth a try.
