According to a poster on the dot.org, the Mirror is reporting that QPR are looking to hire a manager/Director of Football - Possibly Ince, Johnson, Di Matteo. Sousa may stay but only as coach. (Although I can't believe Sousa would stay under those circumstances) www.qprdot.org/viewtopic.php?t=35711 Havent yet seen the Mirror

And the Mirror story Daily Mirror/Alan Nixon - QPR to demote manager Paulo Sousa in summer shake-up - QPR will shake up their management team next season - with Paulo Sousa being demoted in the new-look regime. - Sousa, whose title is first team coach, has found it hard to turn round the club's fortunes and was told a new man will come in above him at the end of this campaign. - He still has a year left on his contract and may stay on at Loftus Road, but in reality will not call the shots. - The Portugal legend was the surprise replacement for axed Iain Dowie and came to west London as a big-name former player with fresh ideas. But he has failed to provide tactical inspiration and Rangers have slipped out of the Championship play-off race. - The club, whose wealthy owners have seen other teams do far better with less cash, are looking for a new manager or director of football. Among possible targets are Paul Ince, Bristol City's Gary Johnson and MK Dons chief Roberto Di Matteo. www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/2009/03/31/qpr-to-demote-manager-paulo-sousa-in-summer-shake-up-115875-21242301

Lets see, we'd have to pay Sousa's salary for the next 12 month either if he stays or if he leaves claiming constructive dismissal. Then we pay off a club to bring in their manager i.e. Di Matteo/Johnson and then we pay their salary for 2+ years and then we continue to pay Paladini or pay him off and then we give them bugger all to acquire players.

Ah but if we appoint someone over Sousa and say he can stay...and he decides not to be humiliated. Maybe we can "force" him to resign - no compensation? A Director of Football AND a Sporting Director? FYI, Dennis Wise is supposedly going to be available...According to the papers, leaving Newcastle

It's hard to think how he could be demoted any further, he has no say in anything but training anyway. The reserve team coach Ainsworth's job is secure, he may know nothing about coaching but he is the eyes and ears in the squad for the top executive (sometimes called a tell tale.) .Where is Sousa going to fit in ?
No other multi-million pound business in the world would employ two completely inexperienced people to run it. Perhaps this is the famous four year plan. The law of averages must say if you keep changing your manager every four to six months you may find a good one after four years. Keep your fingers crossed.

There is a tide in the affairs of men which taken at the flood leads on to fortune. On such a sea are we now afloat. and take the current when it serves, or lose our ventures. Brutus Act 4 Julius Caesar (Read Briatore for Brutus).

If this story is true (and I wouldn't bet against it having some degree of truth): Then I'll bring in today's Yiddish word-of-the-day: It's a SHANDA

And from Daily Mail/Standard but just repeating Mirror reporting. With a horrible line of speculation at the article's conlusion!
Mail - QPR to demote current boss Sousa in shake-up this summer
- Queens Park Rangers will shake up their management team next season, with the Londoners on the hunt for a new man who will take over from Paulo Sousa at the helm. Sousa, whose title is first team coach, has found it difficult to turn around the club's fortunes since replacing Iain Dowie in November, and has been told a new man will come above him at the end of the season. - The club's wealthy owners are looking for a new manager or director of football, according to a report in the Mirror. A new man will come in above current manager Paulo Sousa at QPR in the summer QPR have fallen out of the play-off reckoning in recent weeks and currently sit in 11th place in the Championship table. Among those who might be considered for the post are Paul Ince, out of work since being sacked by Blackburn, Bristol City's Gary Johnson and MK Dons boss Roberto Di Matteo.
Lawrie Sanchez and Alan Pardew are also managers currently out of work, who would surely jump at the chance to manage the London club.

Let's go for our 9th man in charge in just over three years! This is really sad if it's true. No effort on the part of the club to deny the reports, which is a bit of an insult to Sousa in itself. I would imagine that most of the names above wouldn't join the club after Iain Dowie's experience (I'm no fan of Dowie, but it does look bad to sack a manager who got results and who clearly didn't have much control over the team). Sanchez would be... unthinkable. A bit of an obnoxious person whose ego exceeds their abilities. I hope it's not true. Why does the club not do it's homework before they sign managers instead of signing them and then realising that they don't play nice football or that they're inexperienced and might take a season to find their feet?

dreamr I like your description of Sanchez, but it's wasted on him - it's perfect for Flavio.
I must say it sounds as though the two of them would fit together.

Worked for Corporatists for quite a while. the company line is positive always. anonymity is paramount. There is only one goal, to make more and more money and to have less and less employees. Never talk against the company. You do not have control of your job. After a given length of time (always secret) if they havent made enough money they sell or merge.,their business plans and books are secret, even shareholders fooled, often there are two or three plans or sets of books. Gossip always rampant but behind closed doors, but trust no one. A corporatist culture is a thinly veiled dictatorship.

also Lofty goals are espoused, we will be a center of excellence, we have a five year plan, we will achieve high market share, we will win the Champions league, we will be in premiership.Salaries are commensurate on how much money you make for the company. Translate to Rs. Paladini will go, poor performing players will go,people that talk too much go, people go if someone looks too smart, or dresses too well.. The Bosses have to be the best turned out. Best Cars. People that promise things and dont deliver go. People that have been superior in other companies are recruited. Sousa, and this is a guess will probably go. Talking to press a lot and discussing plans with the press is considered chain of command breaching.

As grumpy says, he can't be demoted any lower. Was considering two season tickets for family members to use amongst us, not going to bother now. Time for this again, methinks.
