Lee Cook and Rowan Vine are expected to be included in the Reserves' starting XI for this evening's match against Brighton at Lewes FC, kick off 7pm.

Midfielder Cook came on as a second-half substitute against Bristol City on Saturday after being sidelined for a month with a knee problem.

With no fixture this weekend, he's been put into the Reserves this evening to gain some valuable match fitness.

Meanwhile, this Totesport.com Combination League clash will provide striker Rowan Vine with another opportunity to stake his claim for a First Team return after more than 11 months on the sidelines with a broken leg.

The former Birmingham man made his long-awaited competitive comeback in the second-string's 2-0 win over Charlton seven days ago, scoring a penalty in the process.

Should he come through tonight's fixture unscathed he is likely to feature in Paulo Sousa's squad for the R's next fixture, at home to Crystal Palace a week on Saturday.

Player / Coach Gareth Ainsworth has a strong squad to chose from for the match, so it should make for an entertaining affair in East Sussex.

Reserves Fifth Win on the Spin

Goals from Tommy Elphick. Gary Hart and Dan Royce gave Albion's reserves a deserved 3-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers at the Dripping Pan.

The visitors started brightly, and John Sullivan had to get down sharply to parry a fierce drive on the angle from Romone Rose.

Kane Louis had the only other sight of goal in an otherwise uneventful first half, but his dipping volley went straight at Rangers keeper Elvins Putnins.

Shortly after the break Albion midfielder Michael Oluwatosin made an outstanding block on the line to keep out Ed Harris's diving header, before Sullivan smothered the danger.

The deadlock was finally broken on the hour mark when Elphick nodded home the rebound after his initial header from Dan Royce's cross had been blocked on the line.

Gary Hart doubled the lead five minutes later after running on to a Chris Brencher pass and finishing emphatically from the edge of the area - the striker's sixth goal in four reserve team games.

With ten minutes to go QPR stalwart Gareth Ainsworth pulled one back with a spectacular overhead kick from Josh Parker's cross.

But Albion made sure of the result when Dan Royce gave Putnins no chance with a stunning 25 yard drive.

Glenn Murray came through the first half unscathed before being replaced by Jonny Dixon, while Camberley Town trialist Joe Johnson played the full 90 minutes on the left of midfield.

Gareth Ainsworth's stunning bicycle kick proved in vain, as the R's second string succumbed to a 3-1 defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday evening.

On a night when Rowan Vine continued his comeback with a full 90 minute appearance and Lee Cook played over an hour following a recent knee injury, the R's conceded three goals in 30 minutes to leave the Dripping Pan with nothing to show for their admirable efforts.

In a drab first half - in which Romone Rose shone for the R's from the right flank - unsurprisingly, it was Vine who went closest to breaking the deadlock ten minutes before the break.

Effortless work-rate saw the R's striker dispossess an Albion centre half, only for his 12-yard effort to be blocked on route to goal.

At the other end, Glenn Murray went close for the Seagulls with a shot which flew over the bar, before Lee Cook's stinging 16-yard drive whizzed wide on the stroke of half-time.

The deadlock was eventually beached on the hour mark, when Albion's Tommy Elphick headed home at the second time of asking, after seeing his initial effort blocked.

Brighton doubled their advantage seven minutes later, when experienced front-man Gary Hart - despite looking suspiciously offside - breached the last line of the R's defence and raced through unchallenged to fire home in style.

Player / Coach Ainsworth gave the R's hope with a stunning bicycle kick 12 minutes from time, but it proved to be scant consolation, as the R's conceded a third late on.

As Rangers pushed for an equaliser, they were caught with the sucker punch, as Kane Louis found space on the edge of the box and slammed the ball home from 20-yards.
