QPR quest ends Lakshmi Mittal, the steel magnate, is ready to walk away from Queens Park Rangers weeks before it makes a triumphant return to the Premier League. The Indian billionaire is open to selling his 33 per cent stake in the club after a bust-up with Formula 1’s Bernie Ecclestone, who has a 62 per cent share. This spring, Mr Mittal was looking into increasing his stake to become the majority shareholder but had no joy; Mr Ecclestone said at the time: “Lots of people say they are going to buy things until they eventually find these things are not for sale.” Mr Mittal’s son-in-law, Amit Bhatia, stepped down as vice-chairman of the club as a result. Mr Mittal now says he is “ready to divest [his] stake” and is “no longer looking” at taking control. Meanwhile, the club said on Thursday it was in talks with a potential suitor. Mr Ecclestone might wish to clear up questions over QPR ownership, if only to allow him time to focus on an investigation by German prosecutors into payments he allegedly made to a banker in conjunction with the 2005 sale of shares in F1 to buy-out group CVC Capital Partners. www.ft.com/cms/s/0/43f01cb2-b907-11e0-bd87-00144feabdc0.html#axzz1TnOFQ8Bq

Very very sad if true (and I presume it is) Time after time, over these last few years, the good has left us and the bad has remained

Sad really....not sure how much was hype but they at least seemed to have the best interest of the club at heart

Maybe Fernandes is buying Mittal's share and a small section of Bernie's shares so he can become majority shareholder, allowing Tango and Cash to take a back seat.

Or maybe he's buying Mittal's shares, and Briatore/Ecclestone stay in charge.
Based on photos I saw - nothing else, doesnt look like Briatore is stepping back/away in the slightest

Very very sad if true (and I presume it is) Time after time, over these last few years, the good has left us and the bad has remained Ditto. It was the Mittal's who got us promoted, not the scumbags who are now claiming the credit.

Most likely Fernandes. Also why would the Mittal's put their money into a club they only own a small amount of?? It wouldn't make sense at all.

maybe they had no intention of increasing their stake. probably a quick way of making some millions.
buy some shares in a division 1 club, let the two ronnies fund players to get promotion to prem then sell up for a nice tidy profit.
who put the money in to buy the players that got us promoted? in your words not mittal so why are people sad to see this guy go.
weather we loath them or hate them they help us get to where we are along with warnock and us, the fans.
keep it real people.

Hooray! Let's hope both of them Flav and Bernie spend more time with lawyers than at LR.
As for Mittal, I got banned at another site for saying essentially what Hitman said, talk about a love in, some mods won't hear of any criticism of the Mittals. It was insulting like their dad..

I'm sad to see him go because he seemed to genuinly care for the club and its fans. He isn't putting any money in because he probably can't stand Tango and Cash just like us.

So people dont like the facts hey WB! If anyone does not want to help queens park rangers football club then they can all F*** off and that includes the mittals and bernie. as for fernandez, he is promising to give warnock £10 mil for transfers, and he does not even have 1 share in the club as of yet. what has mittal offered after owning shares for the last 3 and half years?

yeah, ten million would be very useful, I dread to think of this team without Derry, Adel, Hill, we need to last the whole season, and 4 guys would be great, especially if Gorkks leaves.

As Mac said earlier on today, It is amazing how after last season had just finished we were all annoyed that we were only getting a £15m budget and now it is in our wildest dreams that we even get £10m budget.

I really hope Fernandes does give Neil the 10 mill.

What you have to understand is that there is a difference between Mittal and Amit. Amit is the son in law and he seemed to care about the club and also seemed to run the club in a good way last season. BUT it is Mittal who has the money and he just didn't have the same interested in QPR that his son in law had/has.
That's the way I understand it.

It doesn't matter if Mittals gone, I would bet he made a fine profit from Be/FL for his shares : )
What of Amit's (niceguy) ABC business arrangement with Flavio !
Has Amit made money also ?

I know exactly what one user of this site will say when he logs in. "I thought surgeons were meant to remove the Cancer from the body, not remove the good body parts and leave the Cancer behind."
