How this ridiculous anomaly can be allow to continue is beyond me....how many times will Cardiff benefit from the WFA's sympathetic interpretation of red cards before someone sorts this out. www.itv.com/Sport/Football/News/Championship/Generalnews/Bluebirds-to-appeal-red-cards-871551424.htmlDave Jones revealed Cardiff will be appealing both red cards shown to Gabor Gyepes and Ross McCormack during Sunday's 3-0 home defeat to fellow promotion rivals Sheffield United. Centre-back Gyepes was the first to be dismissed when he tangled with Darius Henderson in the penalty area midway through the first half, leaving Cardiff-born striker David Cotterill to slot home the resulting spot-kick. The Bluebirds were then reduced to nine men in the 34th minute when McCormack was alleged to have elbowed Kyle Naughton near the touchline, but on both occasions referee Paul Taylor was quick to brandish the red card. Jones said: "We will appeal against both dismissals and if the referee had only taken time to consult his assistant then he may have come to different decisions." Jamie Ward and Stephen Quinn wrapped up the points for the Blades after the break, but it was the two red cards that left a sour taste in Jones' mouth. He added: "I have watched both of them on the television and neither warranted a red card although I would have been unhappy if I hadn't been awarded a penalty when Gabor was sent off. At no time can you say this was a dirty game yet the referee handed out two red cards and five yellow cards."

If their players get let off again and Cardiff beat Sheff Utd to 6th place at least the lawyers will be happy.
