101 Greatgoals.com Assault: Vincent Enyeama sees red for a chuck (Hapoel Tel Aviv-Bnei Yehuda) Monday, March 23rd, 2009 A bizarre incident closed out the Ligat ha’Al match between Hapoel Tel Aviv and Bnei Yehuda on Saturday night in Israel. Having taken the lead thanks to a Ben Luz cracker after 13 minutes, Bnei Yehuda pulled back level through an Assi Baldout penalty. Hapoel then regained the lead with 20 minutes remaining when their goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama converted the second spot-kick of the day. The fact that keeper Enyeama got on the scoresheet at all is a story worth noting. Bu t the Nigerian custodian rewrote the headlines with a crazy assault in the very last seconds of the match which gave the referee little option but to send the shot-stopper off. With the clock ticking down, Bnei Yehuda launched a final attack with the ball eventually ended up in Enyeama’s hands. Visiting striker Kobi Moyal then got in the keeper’s grill spewing verbals at the keeper as the frustrated of defeat was clearly setting in. But rather than being the bigger man Enyeama rose to the bait. Lifting the ball above his head with both hands, Enyeama proceeded the hurl the ball straight at Moyal’s head with the object full-on crashing into it’s target from just a yard away. Madness! Watch Vincent Enyeama’s ball-assault here. www.101greatgoals.com/videodisplay/2256013/ www.101greatgoals.com/2009/03/ball-assault-vincent-enyeama-sees-red-for-a-chuck-hapoel-tel-aviv-bnei-yehuda/

If it was one of our Championship refs he would have missed it.
