Probably Warnock doesn't trust "anyone else" with paperwork anymore, so sticks to those he knows.
Before he gets landed with some drek Italian Series C player

err, he has one on the books now and there is renewed interest maybe in another 34 year old Italian to go with the 38 year old Italian. seems like someone wants to see their dream team from 25 years ago play.

South London Press/Richard Cawley
Exclusive: QPR make approach for Palace's AmbroseTuesday, 14 June 2011 QUEENS Park Rangers have made contact with Crystal Palace about signing Darren Ambrose. The South London Press understands that the Premier League new boys have made contact with the Eagles to see if a deal can be done for the 27-year-old. Ambrose's career was revitalised under Neil Warnock during his time in charge at Selhurst Park - scoring 20 goals after a free transfer from Charlton in 2009. And Warnock was close to sealing a move for the ex-Ipswich and Newcastle man last summer. A deal had been agreed only for CPFC2010, then in the process of buying Palace and bringing them out of administration, persuading Ambrose to sign a new long-term contract. But last season was a frustrating one for the set-piece specialist, a succession of niggling injuries preventing him from making a major impact. Now QPR, quiet in the transfer market this summer, have Ambrose in their sights as they look to add quality to their squad. can't see Neil going back in for him,
ambrose got offered a chance, turned his nose up at us.
warnock does not seem the type that would give you a second chance after being snubbed.

Want him or not want him...: I want him if Warnock wants him...And I want us to be able to get him if we want him PEOPLE Transfer news: Hull and QPR in race for Crystal Palace midfielder Darren Ambrose
Jun 19 2011 by Alan Nixon, The PeopleHULL CITY are trying to beat Premier League new boys QPR to the signature of Crystal Palace’s goalscoring midfielder Darren Ambrose. Tiger boss Nigel Pearson has made an inquiry for 27-year-old Ambrose, who is also a £1.2milliontarget for Neil Warnock’s newly-promoted club. Hull only have Championship football to offer but their bid looks more solid with Rangers finding it surprisingly hard to complete recent deals.Ambrose may be given permission to speak to Hull this week, while Warnock tries to put in a realistic offer and package to tempt him to stay in London. www.people.co.uk/sport/football/football-hotline/2011/06/19/transfer-news-hull-and-qpr-in-race-for-crystal-palace-midfielder-darren-ambrose-102039-23210609/

I think Ambrose will be joining with Bullard in midfield. Got a feeling your right. It will definitely be a Warnock signing so in Neil we trust.

Ambrose can also play on the Wing or at Taarabt's position. Good player, maybe a little short for prem football, and comptetition for Buz.

Admittedly he never set the world alight in the Prem under Curbs at Charlton ! played 20+ games two seasons only got 3 goals in each season .
Stats at Palace 22 goals in 75 pretty decent , few pens in there prob.
still decent addition

Expect this one will come off !
Crystal Palace chief admits Ambrose can go for the right price By Julian Bennetts Friday, June 24
Crystal Palace co-chairman Steve Parish admits that any offer for Darren Ambrose would be considered as the midfielder is desperate to play in the Premier League. Ambrose has been strongly linked with a move to QPR, who are managed by Neil Warnock, his former boss at Selhurst Park. And Parish admits that every player has his price as he looks to support Dougie Freedman ahead of the upcoming Championship season. "We know that players want to play in the Premier League and Darren is no different - he has played there before," said Parish. "If we get an offer for a player who has a certain amount of time on his contract we will have to have a look at it. "If we get the right offers for certain people and we think that we can improve the squad with the money we get for them then we will look at it."

Maybe it's just me but I can't see how Ambrose is any improvement on what we have.
It could be argued that he falls into the category of failed Premier player looking for final payday!
I would much prefer McAnuff

Might be unpopular this post .. but ... Last season Adel was our top scorer and had most assists but everything ran through him!
Is no surprise Ambrose is Warnocks target again as he put him in the whole behind the main striker at Palace and was brilliant.
If we play the same as last year we will be found out fast (as Savage done)marking Adel out of the game .. and stunt any goals being scored?
If this is the only way to play Adel ... Should we look seriously at offers for him with the money get 2 possibly 3 quality additions?

But I do think that Tarrabt will be targetted next season by better players than Savage. So we need to have other options. My only concern with selling him is who do we replace him with?

Must confess want Tarbs to stay and Routledge to sign . OK may be better out there , but better to have Players Neil has already worked with before and knows there limitations etc for me . Add that the fact that Tarbs played 43 games , scored 19 + 16 assists Routs played 20 games , scored 5 goals + 6 assists ! Between them 24 goals and 22 assists , If Routs played the Whole season that could have been something like 30 goals and 30 assists. ok it was the Champs not the Prem but still think they work well together at times and would scare some prem defences, if not by skills by bottles of water hitting them . I say have them both at QPR.
