Good move by Wolves....Surely the type of player who could of made a difference over the last 10 games. Perhaps GP isn't friends with Martin O'Neil. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/nottm_forest/7954263.stmAston Villa striker Marlon Harewood looks set to snub his old club Nottingham Forest by signing instead for Championship leaders Wolves. The 29-year-old, who has had just one league start since joining Villa for £4m in July 2007, has been linked with a return to his first club Forest. But BBC Nottingham understands that Harewood, who has 119 career goals in 416 games, has had talks with Wolves. Relegation-threatened Forest play Wolves at the City Ground on Saturday.

I saw people suggesting on the dot.org earlier this week or last week. And I think loaning him now would be silly....But as to a couple of months ago.
Now obviously some would push for a de facto "prohibition" on me commenting on this, but based on my reading on the boards, I'd say there's not a single poster (bar perhaps one or two of "apologists") who haven't been screaming for us to buy or loan strikers. (Of course that doesn't mean just signing any striker, no matter how old, or how injury-prone, or how high his wages...) Will be very interesting to see what we do this summer. We'll know how serious we are = and who's in real charge - by the kind of signings we make.

Don't rate him that highly myself but would probably have had him at Rangers for this season. Having seen him though, probably pleased we didn't get him. Not the greatest strike record.
Wouldn't blame him for going to Wolves over Forest, bit of a nobrainer innit! Also, he may well be settled in the area now which also helps with a choice like that.
As you say, good move by Wolves though. How many strikers will that give them eh?
Edit: Didn't see your reply when I typed that Mike.

The last ten games will probably prove to be the difference between top 6 and 8-9th and I suspect that we may actually do well over the run in. Imagine now if we finish 3-6 points short of top 6 will that not have been a huge missed opportunity....Perhaps the worst fear is that we are now into belt tightening mode and what we have may have to suffice for next year when we still have the same fundamental holes as last summer.

Think you are right. Same holes but we have spent..maybe even over budget? The accounts will be interesting reading.
